Steady Weapon

Descripción
Bringing one of the most used abilities from the Long War, this mod allows all your soldiers to use Steady Weapon ability. Using this ability ends the soldier's current turn but gives aim bonus to their next shot.

If you are already in middle of a mission when first loading this mod, you will have to wait until your next mission before your soldiers can use Steady Weapon ability.

This ability uses same logic as WAR Suit's shield wall meaning the bonus is removed if you move or use offensive ability.

Few good combo to use are Steady Weapon -> End turn -> Overwatch -> Ambush, Steady Weapon -> Inspire -> Attack, Sharpshooter move -> Steady Weapon instead of pistol

Configuration
-------------------------------------
You can edit the amount of aim bonus this mod gives you in the XComGameData_SteadyWeapon.ini located at steamapps\workshop\content\268500\626609469\Config. By default the aim bonus is 20% but by modifying the line STEADY_WEAPON_AIM_BONUS = 20, you can change the aim bonus amount to anything you want.

STEADY_WEAPON_DEFENSE_BONUS modifies defense bonus/penalty soldier will get while using Steady Weapon. By default it is 0.

STEADY_WEAPON_DISABLED_ARRAY determines which weapon category the Steady Weapon ability will be disabled for. By default, cannon and shotgun type weapons can't use the ability. These can be deleted/added to change what types of weapons can't use the ability.

STEADY_WEAPON_UI_PRIORITY determines where in the UI the ability gets placed. Default is 100. Higher you put it, more right side and UI will appear. Put it to something like 2000 if you want the ability to appear at the right most side.

STEADY_WEAPON_DURATION determines how many turns the buff lasts as long as you don't move or take offensive actions. Default is 2.

STEADY_WEAPON_TICK_AT_END determines when the number set by STEADY_WEAPON_DURATION ticks. If set to true, the tick happens at the end of player's turn. If set to false, tick happens at the beginning of the player's turn. This can be used to allow/disallow overwatch shot from being affected by the steady weapon aim bonus. Default is true.

Compatibility
-------------------------------------
This mod shouldn't have problem with any other mod including the mods that give more abilities to all the soldiers such as Evac All and Overwatch All.

Latest Update
-------------------------------------
Added STEADY_WEAPON_DURATION and STEADY_WEAPON_TICK_AT_END to XComGameData_SteadyWeapon.ini.

@p6kocka:
There's a version of Ready Up for WotC. IIRC, that mod's .ini can be tweaked so it'd work just like this one.

Can somebody update this for WOTC? I´ve tried but haven´t succeeded. This is one of the most important feature (just like in XCOM 1 game). Thank you.

any1 tested this with WoTC?

You could get the WoTC version of Ready Up and (probably) mess about with its INI config to duplicate the effects of this mod.

Would like to see this for WotC as well! A key missing feature.

Bump for WotC request. This is a staple mod for my game.

Sadly, WotC crashes on startup when using this mod. I do have other mods installed, but it only crashes when I add this mod as well. Any chance this is gonna get updated for the expansion?

Very nice. Losing the buff on a move a great feature others overlook. However, as stated in a previous comment, it would be really nice if you could slip in the ini config the ability to make it a 1AP or 2 AP ability. Dragon32 suggested just use Ready Up, but that mod is a lot more cheaty. It would be really great if you could take the time to make the small update. Its less a balance and more of a game speed/timing thing. A lot less wait, go, wait, go, wait go. I, and many others, would really appreciate it.
