Description
The Toltecs

This mod adds The Toltecs to the game, led by Xochitl!

The Toltec empire was a precolumbian mesoamerican state that existed around the 9th and 12th centuries. A cultural predecessor to the Aztecs, according to legend the Toltecs subjagated much of the Mexican highlands and parts of the Yucutan peninsula, bringing about an era of unparalleled cultural, scientific and military advancement before the kingdom was invaded and ravaged by nomadic peoples from the north. Later cultures looked upon the Toltecs with great reverance.

Is that sexual harassment?

Everyone seems to enjoy playing as them, but I enjoy playing against them! lol The AI uses them very aggressively making the Toltecs a menacing opponent. I do wonder however why they don't seem to expand. In one game they never founded even a second city and in my most recent they conquered two cities before finally settling a #2 of their own. Thanks for the great work! :SocialPolicy:

@Penitencia

That's weird, which Mexico in particular are you using, can you post screenshots?

I would like to play against this civ, but anytime the mod its activated and im using another civ (México for example) i cannot see my great works or move them because my turism overview looks empty (even the buildings), please fix this problem, because as a mexican i would love to use the mighty Toltecs with its glorious Atlantes.:CapitalDome::Citadel:

A very very nice mod. The artwork is great - it's not OP - makes for a good game. Thanks for the nice work.

It is important to note that the production for land units is on a city basis, and to be honest it'd be difficult to get that many artists halfway through the game, you are talking about 5 great works of art per city, you probably won't get close to that throughout the whole game. The xp from the gardens is pretty small as well, and the slots have to be there to ensure cities can actually hold great works of art in the first half of the game.

then it will be balanced. As for the improvement, maybe a more specific req? (forest or jungle coated hills perhaps?) either that or losing the gold or culture, or requiring a later tech to gain it. Just throwing out ideas.

With all the uniques it is WAY too easy to get great people. The trait pretty much means by midgame you will be getting 25% faster land units at least, and even more late game. You get a garden that can be built anywhere (not broken) but gives you two free great work slot and free xp as a "why not" bonus, and along with the trait, you're gonna be getting super fast unit production from a building you are going to want to build in every city anyway (garden's are amazing if you are working any specialist slots). The improvement giveing free GPP's are a bit too much along with the gold and culture on a terrain that is already decent (hills).

With that said, I love the synergy, and it's a well designed civ but I think some of these bonuses can be toned down. Perhaps keeping the normal garden restrictions and only 1 instead of 2 great work slots, and maybe
