7 Types Of Racers Online
By Cusco
I got pissed at hackers before. Now let me grumble about the worst part of my favourite sport in GTA: THE RACERS.
Who are you? What are you?

============================================================
So awhile ago I ranted on the people who mess around in freemode after being blown out of the sky by a hacker, talking about The 7 Types Of People Online. Hackers are now more or less extinct for now. Now... Let me rant on a mode that is dominated by a select few.
Racing
Type 1: The Amateurs
I don't mean this in a bad way, just that these guys LOVE racing. As much as they do love to race, most of them aren't that good. They tend to (try) to build flashy and eye catching cars and at lower levels tend to have odd wheel choices and wacky colour schemes.
Most if not all racers begin amateurish.
Type 2: The Ragers
Oh we all know at least one guy who is like this! They simply won't admit that they aren't measuring up to par with the pack and will hurl abuse at everyone in chat. Most of them don't know how to take a corner and hate a good challange, often voting for tracks like "The Commute", "Congestion Charge" and the scum of all Vanilla tracks: "Criminal Records"
Type 3: The Grinders
This is actually more of a phase than a type but I'll put it up here anyway.
These guys enter loads of races hoping to score some wins to unlock upgrades. If you sent a group of 100 of these guys into a race marathon, this group would eventually fracture, a large chunk will quit racing, a small portion of them would turn into chronic ragers in frustration over the continual losses, another chunk would stay amateurish and the small portion which remain will fracture into another 4 types covered below.
The mere existence of this category signals a huge ass flaw in the vehicle upgrade unlocking system: Only pole finishes count.
Type 4: Scum
I call these guys scum as they shouldn't even be racing. These guys are out to win no matter the cost. They rely on ramming and very dirty racing to achieve their goals. If catchup and/or slipstream is off, some even have the nerve to DEMAND that they be switched on (If the reason isn't obvious, it helps them get up close and strike.)
These guys are the first to leave the room if the race type is switched to non-contact. Again, some shameless individuals would demand that this be changed.
If you are one of these guys, take this VERY personal ♥♥♥♥ YOU to the face and change!
May the gods strike every single one of these guys dead.
Type 5: The Purists
This is one of the more rare types that you can find online. These guys use (or try to use) proper racing lines and technique, cutting apexes like hot knives through cheese. They often get above average lap times and finish at the very least 10 seconds ahead of the pack. Purist hosts also tend to host non-contact races. A purist in the same lobby as scum is the perfect formula for a huge ass keyboard war.
Type 6: Professionals
This is merely a step up from the average purist.
I should really just call this group a herd of unicorns cause really, they are mythical.
This is the very definition of a professional, they earn all their GTA $ solely through racing. Because of this, they get plenty of practice and the ones I've had the chance to race with acheive CRAZY laptimes. I'm talking over one minute ahead of the pack kind of insane!
If you are serious about racing, training with this bunch is a great way to go.
As Agent 14 said: "Pressure can turn ♥♥♥♥ into diamonds"
Type 7: The Designers
These guys really know how to show off! Their cars are often worthy showroom pieces.
They make heavy use of modded colours and pearlescents along with the occasional chrome wheel.

I'm 1, 2 if it's an open-wheel race and/or locked on first person, and 7 if any of my vehicles are used. The more customizable the car, the better. I was also 3, but quitted racing to try and score even more profit on Simeon's repo so I can get the Comet S2. I would only go back to racing once I get that Comet S2.

I'm a purist with an average of 4 seconds above average for lap times, But i'll admit I play dirty to win when the time calls for it, but only as a last resort, and only if others are doing the same

This is just an article for discussion. Why would you make this a guide? This is not a guide. It does not help you improve your game in any way.
