Killing apps at startup

MSconfig

1. Start menu
   
2. Run / ⊞ + R
   
3. Type "msconfig"
   
4. Go to advenced
   
5. Check number of processors
   
6. Set it to the maximum
   
7. Go to services
   
8. Turn off everything you dont want to start at startup (tip: check: Hide all Ms services)
   
9. Press OK and restart your system
   

CPU unparking (not risk free)

Activate your CPU cores

1. Start menu
   
2. Run / ⊞ + R
   
3. Type "regedit"
   
4. Edit -> Find / Ctrl + F
   
5. Paste this key: 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583
   
6. Press F3 to find next
   
7. If you find ValueMin or ValueMax edit it (2x click) set it to 0
   
8. Then press F3 to find the next and do the same.
   
9. If every Value set to 0 close it and restart.

Update

Windows

Always use the latest version of your windows.
You can update at the control panel.

If you want to upgrade to windows 10 [www.microsoft.com]i think you should take your time. (2015. Aug. 17)

For gaming use the x64 based systems.

Drivers

Always update your hardware drivers.

µTorrent tricks

How to turn off adds and processor usage.

1. Open µTorrent
   
2. Go to Settings -> Preferences -> Advanced
   
3. Copy these to the filter box and set all to false
   a.) bt.enable_pulse
   b.) distributed_share.enable
   c.) gui.show_notorrents_node
   d.) offers.left_rail_offer_enabled
   e.) gui.show_plus_upsell
   f.) offers.content_offer_autoexec
   g.) offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled
   h.) offers.featured_content_notifications_enabled
   i.) offers.featured_content_rss_enabled
   
4. Then press and hold Shift+F2 and go to Settings -> Preferences -> Advanced
   (This is a seecret menu)
   
5. Copy these to the filter box and set all to false
   a.) gui.show_gate_notify
   b.) gui.show_plus_av_upsell
   c.) gui.show_plus_conv_upsell
   d.) gui.show_plus_upsell_nodes
   
6. Save it and restart the program.
   
7. You can close and open the side bar with F7

@Vsevolod[RUS] while an i5/i3 would have 4 threads for 4 cores (1 for each core).

Typo or just wrong.... My i5 has 4 cores and 8 Threads. but yet i decide to run with 4 threads cause i dont want to overheat my CPU. the more the CPU has to do the more heat it makes. alot of people mistakes this for the RAM which only runs the background crap. the GPU is the biggest problem for Cs go, since alot of people forget to check how much the Minimum required GPU ram they need to run it optimaly.
