de_train Smokes

This guide helps players to teach to throw smokes in order to take bomb sites 'A' and 'B'.

Bomb Site 'A' Smokes

Left Side of the Site

Jump onto the Dumpster near the T-Spawn and aim at the very corner of the Dumpster.

Aim at the top of the leftmost chimney [NOT OVER IT!] and throw the smoke grenade while staying still.

The smoke grenade will bounce off the red train and land onto the ground.

*Bonus* Left Side of the Site

From the same dumpster find the small red circle (shown in the picture), and aim at the centre of the circle.

Aim at the top of the leftmost chimney [NOT OVER IT!] and throw the smoke grenade while staying still.

Ta-Da! The smoke grenade will bounce off the red train and land onto the ground.

Right Side of the Site

Jump onto the Dumpster near the T-Spawn and aim at the starting line where a carton overlays another carton. (Click on the picture to see it better)

Aim at the top of the leftmost chimney [NOT OVER IT!] and throw the smoke grenade while staying still.
The smoke grenade will land in-between the wall and the train.

Top of the Train: So that CTs can not see you from the top of the train

Jump onto the Dumpster near the T-Spawn and aim the upper line of the Dumpster where the shadow ends.
Aim at the center of the sun, and throw the smoke grenade while staying still.
The smoke will land to the edge of the train and enable for a safer bomb plant.

This will be the final picture at the end of the day, if the smokes throws are carried out properly.

1. Time your smoke throws; it is not the best idea to throw them right away, and to reveal your intentions to CTs. Even if you try to fake, it will be a terrible fake because of non-synchronized smoke throws. Therefore agree upon the time with your teammates beforehand when you will execute the strategy. 1:45 or 1:35 works in most of the cases.

2. Although it is possible to throw smoke grenades to the space between the wall and white train near the T-Main and the area between the red and the white train on the bomb site A from the T-spawn, but my personal recommendation is to throw them from the T-Main room. The reason is, once all of the smokes have been thrown, the players standing on the dumpster can throw flashbangs to the site over the building for their teammates standing in the T-Main room, so that they can initiate an attack while CTs being blind.

Ivy Side

Come to the wall with a electric meter at back of B: near the top the ladder and the stairs, as shown it the picture.


Find the clip for the electric wire where two tiles meet.

[Break the windows with your gun first!] Aim at the area between the window [slightly under it!] muntin and the fire sprinkler. Throw your smoke grenade while standing still.

The smoke grenade will land in front of the Ivy area blocking the view from the Site A.

Bomb Site 'B' Smokes

Smoke for the Lower

Come close the B ramp and throw the smoke. (I prefer to stay still and smoke the close train. It is up to you to throw the grenade a bit farther by running).

This is how it should look like after the throw.

Smoke inbetween the White Train and the Bomb Plant Site

At the Back of B find this wall and come close to the wall.

Aim at the line where the brick wall meets the other side of the wall.

Use the top and middle of the letter 'B' for the alignment. Aim at the line where the wall ends and throw the smoke grenade while staying still.

The grenade will bounce off the white train and land onto the ground, thus avoiding CTs to see you from the other side of the B Site.

Smoke for the Upper B

Aim at the wall by the Back of B to throw a smoke to block the vision of CT standing at the end of the Upper B. I prefer to throw a close smoke so that CTs can not see you from the top of trains. A bit safer push, maybe? :/

Smoke for the Right Side of the Site

Aim at the white wall on the right (this should not be very exact; the smoke grenade should land onto the site anyways). Then do a running throw of a smoke grenade.

The grenade will bounce off the wall and land onto the site.

Connector Side of the Site B

Find these woods at the back of the B site. Aim at the hole on the long wood.

Aim at the light bulb, and throw your smoke grenade while making 2 steps forward.


The smoke grenade will bounce onto the area of the connector blocking the view of your opponents.

Defensive Smokes

Upper B Smoke

Stand behind the white train and aim at the iron bar 'extension' as in the picture, and let go the smoke grenade while standing still.


The grenade land on the entrance from the Upper Hallway to the B site.

OR:

Stand behind the red train at the back of the bomb site.

Aim at the furthest window. Run and throw the grenade.

At the end.

Main Entrance Smoke

While you are running towards the Connector (Link, Z)..

Take a second to aim at the line between two bricks near the grass.


Aim at a bit lower part of the chimney from the top, and throw the nade while standing still.

The smoke grenade will bounce off the red train and land in front of the main entrance.

Alternatively

You throw the nade while you are running out of the Connector.
Aim at the right side of the metallic wall and throw your smoke grenade while running.

The grenade will hit the wall and the blue train before landing at the entrance.

Valve changed the clipping on the bombsite A train so the left side A site smoke became a top-ish of the train smoke (if you aim it a little lower it becomes a nice top of bomb train smoke). Bonus smoke still works

For the B side Connector smoke, you can hold shift while walking forwards and let go before you hit the railing. Works more reliably, imo.
