Quick Description

Terrorists are trying to blow up the USS Bellevue, undergoing maintenance at a Naval drydock. SEAL Team 6 responds to the challenge.

---

I always thought it would be fun to play a CS map set in a submarine, so I tried my hand at mapping and came up with this. It has an unconventional layout that switches from wide open areas to tight CQB spaces suddenly. I did my best to compromise between real life authenticity and a map that plays smoothly for CSGO. In competitive mode it plays like a rush map, while deathmatch has a "king-of-the-hill" feel to it. Well placed snipers and smoke grenades can make or break your game on this map, as well as good team communication and strategy. Have fun!

Doors & Passages

The forward hatch on the sub can only be opened by the big red button on the inside ladder, but once it is pushed the door can't be closed again, so don't press it until your team is ready. This was done to prevent Terrorists from rushing the CTs before they could get up the ladder into the front room.

As shown in one of the pictures, the lower door in reactor can be opened from the inside with the green button and closed with the red. Buttons were placed on either side of the doorway to keep enemies guessing what side the player is standing on and reduce the chance of an immediate wallbang.

There are two vents you can shoot out and crawl through. One connects the upper deck to the mess hall, the other connects the server room to the room under tower. The white vent covers were used to prevent players from seeing if an enemy is hiding behind it.

Some doors are closed and don't go anywhere. I didn't want the inside of the sub to feel like it has too many unnecessary areas for players to get lost in.

Submarine Trivia

- There's currently a total of 8 sunken nuclear submarines, 2 American and 6 Russian, on the bottom of the ocean. Their reactors are still in a state of radioactive decay, yet due to the near-unlimited cooling and dilution of the ocean they pose a minimal environmental threat.

- US Submarine crews eat the best out of all other service members in their Navy. To deal with the psychological effects of being locked in a giant steel tube submerged in the middle of the ocean, their meals consist almost entirely of comfort food.

- Sleeping space is extremely limited, so there are extra bunks in the torpedo room for crewmen and special operations forces when they are aboard.

- In real life, the hull number 369 was designated to the USS Kete, a diesel-electric sub which mysteriously disappeared off the coast of southern Japan in 1945.

- Modern nuclear attack subs are powered by a single S9G reactor that delivers 40,000 hp and can power a small city for 33 years. A massive diesel engine is used to restart the reactor or power the boat in emergency.

- Fast attack subs, like the one in this level, travel with the fleet and are used to attack enemy vessels and coastal positions, as well as search and rescue. But a modern Ohio Class sub is a floating missile base, and has a payload of 24 Trident II ballistic missiles. The missiles can launch from underwater and travel up through the atmosphere into space. Each missile can be armed with up to 12 W88 nuclear warheads that can be fired on individual locations from orbit. Each warhead has a destructive yield of 475 kilotons, the one detonated in Hiroshima was 15 kilotons. Each Ohio class sub therefore has the destructive potential of over 9,120 Hiroshimas. There are currently 14 of them in service carrying ICBM's.

as CT? enter the sub through the bottom hatch by the spotlights and climb the ladder, then walk into the hall and push the red button by the ladder to open the hatch.

The most imbalanced and confusing defuse map on the workshop. Interesting concept, but absolute failure in execution. Fix the rotations and rework the map so that people don't get kicked for accidentally falling off the submarine, then perhaps you have a work in progress. Don't expect this map to ever be in an Operation unless some serious improvements are made.
