Personalisation and modding
By donkey
Modding is a way to personalise and make your Team Fortress 2 more unique than the defualt look.

This goes for levels, Taunt reskins and more.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT MOST MODS DO NOT WORK ON VANILLA SERVERS (Valve Servers)

Mods do not kick you, They come up either as missing textures or disable automatically ( They will enable again, Don't worry )

Find A Website To Download From
Personally, I trust http://gamebanana.com/ for it's range of things to keep you entertained, There is not limit to it and it's trust worthy

Look For a Mod
Usually when you have a modding site, There will be a tool bar somewhere, If your using Game Banana, This is what the tool bar looks like

When you figure what class your mod will be, Click on the class. I will demonstrate with a skin ( I will show a map further down).

Once it has loaded, There should be a categories on the side, You can either find Team Fortress 2 Manually or Search for it with the search bar, But most of the time it is at the top

Once you have clicked one Team Fortress 2, Search for a mod you connect with and are willing to download. ( There Is another toolbar for everything that can be reskined, Searching through there can be easier )

Halfway there guys.
Once you have found your mod ( I chose the Seargent Plushie reskin for market gardner :3 ) Click on it and wait.

Once the page has loaded,There is a mini slideshow underneath the main thumbnail if you want to double check it's not glitchy.
(Recommended to look at it.)

Just below the description, There is a download button, click that once your sure you want it.

It will show another download button, But this time with infomation about the file.

Once you clicked download once more, It should automatically start downloading

If you have Winrar or Bandizip, You move ahead.
If you dont, You may need to download 1 of the two I just mentioned to extract the folder.

Click on it once it is done, And there should be 1 or more files, Click the main one.

Generally, There will be a README.txt, Explaining where to go, But for the people who need examples, I'll still help.

When you are wanting to get back into the main file, Click this logo :

Finale
Now open a new file

Go to your windows drive, and go in this order : Windows C: drive> Program Files (86x)>steam>SteamApps>common>TeamFortress2>tf>custom

Once you have your custom file open, Slip your new mod/reskin into the custom file with any other mods you have.

Now for people with maps. You have to do all the steps from part 1 and 2, But
when you get your map downloaded, go to : Windows C: drive> Program Files (86x)>steam>SteamApps>common>TeamFortress2>tf>maps

Place your map in there and you are done!

Hey there, I'm trying to install a weed medibeam mod, and it's not working. The mod is basically two mods; one to change the medibeam's color and particle colors to green, and the other to change the overheal particles to cannabis leaves. They're simple vpk files that go in the custom folder. Am I doing something wrong?

Everyone, not all mods use the folder. You have to take the file out sometimes.
