Description
The Olmecs

This mod adds the Olmecs to the game, led by Tu!

The Olmecs were an ancient pre-columbian civilisation that existed from around 1400-400BCE in what is now Veracruz and Tabasco in Mexico. Regarded as the first mesoamerican civilisation, the Olmecs mastered the art of city planning, trade and architecture, and their culture became the framework for all later civilisations across mesoamerica!

Mod details

Leader-Tu

Trait-"Mother Culture"

"Trade routes transfer 25% more tourism to other civilisations. Land trade routes are extended by 20%, and increase by a further 5% for every river tile within a city's borders. (Max 100%)"

Unique unit-"Nutall"

A warrior replacement with the homeland guard promotion. It can build farms, cut down jungle and forest, as well as clear marshes, but it works slower than the worker, and has a somewhat higher production cost.

Unique building-"Ballcourt"

A colosseum replacement, the ballcourt yields an extra +1 faith, culture and tourism besides 2 happiness. It has extra maintenance however.

Strategy

The Olmecs are an interesting blend between trade and culture. As such, building ballcourts and establishing trade routes early in the game can give you a big headstart into a cultural victory, try to build wonders like the parthenon to further supplement this cultural domination! However, the Olmecs are also quite versatile, the unique unit can give you a much more general early game boost towards whatever victory you desire, and the increased trade range obviously has gold producing advantages. Will you shape other cultures with the Olmecs, or will you shape the destiny of the Olmecs yourself?

УСТАНОВИЛ БОЛЕЕ 20 НОВЫХ ЛИДЕРОВ, НО ВАШ ЛИДЕР В МОЕЙ ИГРЕ НЕ ОТОБРАЖАЕТСЯ.

It would, but events and decisions is a pain to add, it's difficult enough to get decisions support for my most recent mods.

It would be really nice if this could support Events & Decisions.

The only other one I'm using is one that changes the aircraft animation speeds.
Ah, maybe it's the technology? I'm not sure how to check where the city states are in terms of tech and I forgot I'm kind of way ahead of a lot of the world at the moment.

@Sapphire Bullets

I don't really know why that would happen considering the only part of the code referring to city states is to rename one of them, what other mods are you using? Are you sure the city state had the techs it needed?

Had an odd bug where I'm allies with a few city states and they've got mines on their coal resource but they're not giving me the resource. I did eventually get some coal from another but I think that may have been when they built a new mine on the coal resource after I'd discovered it.

@brian_ns

There's barely any evidence for that claim, very few mesoamerican scholars actually put any faith into it.

Nope, but it retains 15% combat strength in its own territory

So, does the unique unit's ability to build stuff stay with it if it upgrades?
