@1jim3bob: I've known these improvements since before I uploaded the video, but didn't really have time to fix it. The production of the video was just a little over a month so many things were rushed.

As much as I'd like to believe that most people didn't vote for it or downvoted it on fair grounds, I've recieved /quite a few/ comments along the lines of "it's a TF2 contest so I downvoted it". And some explaining their reasoning, since the prize is, in fact, an item in TF2.

It's not Valve's "secret wish". In fact they've been pretty open about it. That's why they added all the DLC. And they even said it outright to last years winners "We're getting tired of TF2 videos". I know this because one of said winners was Rantis, who made the rig for Cubey.

For that reason I'm not entering next year. I'd rather stick to doing something new and have plenty of flexible time (without being restrained to 5 minutes or specific catagories).

The problem isn't really that you're not using a valve IP, in fact I'm pretty sure it's been valve's secret wish that people started using SFM to make completely original things. It's just that the video could have used a few improvements, is all. I'm sure by now you've figured out what these improvements are because I sure as hell can't be assed to figure it out myself. Next year, please do something like this again.

@TheNoobThatWas: Yeah, I'm sure there is, but a big number of the voting community is convinced that it has to be TF2 or Valve related and so long as the prize is an item in TF2, I don't think that will change next year.

I'd rather not be restricted anyway.
