Better gender law mod

Description
The mod is compatible with V2.4.2 of CK2.

This mod enables the enatic and enatic cognatic succession laws, while also dramatically improving the mechanics of non-male preferential realms so that the game doesn't act like it's still another agnatic or agnatic-cognatic realm. At the same time, it doesn't change how the game is played in an agnatic or agnatic-cognatic realm. Vassals you give land to will match your gender law group, women ask for titles in enatic realms, vassals don't mind female rulers if they're using an appropriate succession law, and there will be huge tentions with your vassals if they don't have the same gender succession law group as you.

NOTE: Currently tribes are locked to agnatic succession. If you want to use non-agnatic succession, you must adopt feudalism first.

Detailed summary:
For anyone who's tried modding in the variations of enatic succession, or really played with absolute cognatic, you've probably noticed that the vast majority of the game's mechanics don't effectively deal with this kind of succession. You're still using men for all your counselor positions, and your sons still demand land for themselves while the women just carry on for the most part as if nothing has changed.

This mod makes it so that all your jobs other than the Lord Spiritual can be given out based on what type of succession you have. Both men and women if cognatic, only men if either type of agnatic, only women if either type of enatic (unless they have a special flag). They'll also all ask to replace your current advisor if they're better suited for the position. Close female relatives will also request land if you have a succession law that lets them be given it, and men won't ask at all if you have a type of enatic succession.

You can also change which succession law you have accross the whole spectrum so long as you aren't Muslim, Tengri, or a republic. For now, there is no restriction beyond playing as a woman if you want to push towards enatic, and playing as a man if you want to push towards agnatic. Switching between agnatic and agnatic-cognatic or enatic and enatic-cognatic has no restrictions other then you can't disenfranchised yourself. This may change in the future once more parts of the mod have been fleshed out.

There are also new decisions for employing stewards and a young nobleman depending on your gender law. I've also set it up so that women can become adventurers in Absolute cognatic or enatic style realms, who will try to make their own enatic realms. The claim CB has been altered to disallow men pushing weak claims on women without another reason in cognatic or enatic realms, while women can use weak claims on men for no other reason in enatic realms. I've also changed claimant factions slightly, so they use the same rules.

Gender law type can be enforced on imprissoned vassals who aren't using the same type of succession as you. While women who use enatic style succession object to having male rulers or rulers with male heirs, but men will ignore it if they don't use agnatic type successions. Of course, all feudal rulers will be quite upset if you're using a different kind of gender succession then they are (agnatic and agnatic-cognatic are considered to be the same kind of gender succession for this opinion penalty).

Basque rulers will start the game using equal gender succession most of the time, and a few of the ingame heresies have been given a special decision to switch to Absolute Cognatic succession if they dont' already have it. Finally, there is a new custom heresy called Lilithian for the Miaphysites, which has the power to assume enatic-cognatic succession if they're not already either enatic or enatic-cognatic! If you can take control of Alexandria, you can create a Lilithian Papacy, which will even have a female pope.

The base game has been otherwise unaltered, and in a typical game of Crusader Kings 2, you probably won't notice any difference from running this mod or otherwise.

This mod use to include my Lollard Feudal temples mod, but as of version 2.4.1 of CK2, I've been able to split the two off of one another and keep them fully compatible. If you would like to continue using that mod, please subscribe to it as well and run both.

NOTE: Do not set up the Lilithian Papacy if your computer is not a 64 bit system with at least 4 GB of RAM.

CREDITS:
  • pleonasticity - made the new gender law icons used in the mod.

Known issues:
  • Titles that were given out to alternative heirs through gavelkind still use the default succession law.
  • When using the change gender law decisions, the list of successors is not refreshed. In non-elective realms, you will either need to reload, wait for your ruler to die, or have a child for this to change. In elective ones, the only issue is that votes for candidates that don't qualify for the title will maintain their votes until their supporters change their votes to someone else.
  • Under Free Investiture Law, women cannot be appointed as successors to bishoprics in Lilithian realms.
  • Sons generate landless son prestige loss regardless of gender law.
  • Landless men can be granted titles under enatic and enatic-cognatic succession even without a claim on the title. The AI will give out land to men over women no mater what gender law they're using.
  • Random female Councillors are all age 30.
  • The investiture system is hardcoded to only allow men to be appointed as successors. Female priest religions can still get randomly generated female priests.
  • When voting in elective realms, AI controlled rulers will always prefer male candidates over female ones when not voting for landed rulers or with their liege.
  • AI controlled characters in Enatic and cognatic realms will still prefer regular marriages over matrilineal ones after themselves and their immediate heir and are very bad at keeping their dynasty in power.

How did you get it to work Isaac? For me it generates lots of blank messages on day 3 of playing that cant be closed. Does anyone else know what to do?

I just removed most of the graphical files to make this mod run fine, but I would advise taking more care than I did in their deletion.

@Sexy Babes any chance you'll just update it in the near future rather than adding/changing things?
I prefer playing girls and none of the other mods I can find actually enable enatic. :2016imnotcrying:

There's a chance. However, I wouldn't get your hopes up. I currently have no plans to work on this in the near future.

Any chance of adding to this mod or making a new mod that lets females with a weak claim on a title held by Muslims able to be pressed? I have granddaughters with a claim on a huge Sunni kingdom but I cannot press them, despite my own laws being agnatic-cognatic. To me, it should work by default because who cares what the laws of the kingdom/dukedom you're going to conquer are, lol, at least if you're going to vassalize upon victory because the claimants are of you dynasty and you're an emperor.
