Master of Time

Description
Ever wanted to control time? In Skyrim now you can!

Adds 3 new Alteration spells

Slow Time
Freeze Time
Blessing of Time

Slow Time - While channeled this spell slows time down to 1/100th of its normal pace for everyone but you. With your free hand why not hack up the local bandits with a sword or blast them with other spells. At 20 magika per second time has never been so cheap! Requires 70 Alteration.

Freeze Time - Slow Time not good enough for you? Finding it too restrictive? Want to use your favourite bow or that meaty new mace? Cast once to slow time to a crawl, cast a second time to resume time. Now you have all the time in the world to do with as you please. At 300 mana its not cheap but incredibly powerful (WARNING - IT IS VERY POWERFUL, but very FUN!). Requires 90 alteration.

Blessing of Time - Once cast it blesses the player with the Blessing of Time. This blessing remains on the player untill activated. When the players health drops below 35%, the blessing activates and stops time for a moment, allowing you one last chance at saving yourself. This spell only requires 50 alteration and 100 mana

How to Aquire:
Simple, journey to the Throat of the World, you will find spell books lying on the floor by the statue thing.
Or, by popular demand, visit Tolfdir at The College of Winterhold and buy the spell books from him.

If you are not happy with the time slow down pace, maybe you think its TOO slow then you can adjust this by visiting the courtyard of The College of Winterhold. There is a pillar there (near the big mage statue) which will let you adjust the pace for Freeze Time/Slow Time. Choices are 1/100, 1/10, 1/4 and 1/2. Use the statue to cycle through the various options.

In the unlikely even that you can't get time to go back to normal then you can try waiting 1 hour or do the

following:
Open the console (` key by default - one left of 1).
Type the following and hit enter:
help "Slow Time" 4
Take note of the line that says (no need to write it down, it will be there for the next part):
Perk: (XXXXXXXX) 'Slow Time'
Now type the following and press return, replacing XXXXXXXX with the hexadecimal number you were given:
player.removeperk XXXXXXXX
All should be fixed. If no, save, disable the mod, load and save again, reenable the mod.

Comments, critisisms, suggestions and bug reports welcome.

Have fun!

Good question, genuinely can't remember. I suspect they will know if you are within line of sight even with time stopped. I believe time isn't stopped as such but it's just very, very slow.

Can you steal in front of everyone without alerting them while time is stopped?

Yeah, I'm probably just not yet smart enough to get it working in the Creation Kit. But I'll keep at it. Thanks for the tips :)

Thanks for the feedback Vayek. You can do it as a one handed spell, a shout, even putting on a ring etc. The choices made are really all to do with some attempt at balance and a bit of variety.

Snapping your fingers and stopping time is possible but not all that fun. Stopping time in the mod is sort of like the ultimate spell. You could turn it off with a fast, one handed spell but it would be a different spell so you'd need an on spell and an off spell which wouldn't be great. The creation kit doesn't allow the flexibility to make the same spell behave differently whether it is on or off.

It has been 10 years since I made it so I'm sure somethings have changed.

Maybe the freeze time could be added a shout? the current shout time slow also slows the player (which sucks)

Sucks the freeze time is two handed. So, I need to always switch to this spell, long ass cast time, switch back to my weapon, then switch back to the spell, long ass cast time to turn it off.

Too much hassle to be worth it. Sorry.

I did try to watch some videos and see how to use somethign called a creation kit. and I change the freeze time to be either handed. But no dice. it wont save and do it in-game. So, not a lot of help.

But thanks for the effort in trying :) I appreciate the effort to make this

I don't know and they change also. I think (reading from the description and what I can remember), you should be able to type help "Spell Name" and then it'll list a bunch of stuff. One should say Tome/Book: (XXXXXX) 'Spell Tome: Spell Name. That XXXXXX will be the ID.
ledbullet1 Jun 20, 2021 @ 11:41pm
yeah i know how to use the console commands but whats the ids for the books
Nanoha  [author] Jun 20, 2021 @ 11:30pm
That's odd. Nothing has changed on the mod for 9 years but it could be conflicting with other mods or recent game changes (which there probably are none since there's that other version now). You could try using the console to give yourself the books. I have forgotten how at this point but a quick internet search should reveal the method.
