TF2 Fun Tactics: Best ways to Pan

A handy guide on how to pan like a pro, or for just good, stupid fun.

Introduction

Wanna be the best panner in the world? Do you want to make people respect the pan as it is the 1st STRANGE All-class weapon in the game? Or do you wanna play TF2 for fun and not so serious that you don't care if you lose? Well look no further, here are some tips on how to pan, correctly and/or incorrectly, like a pro, or like an a$s-hat nobody wants to be around with:

Class Guide

Scout:

Does only 35 HP damage, but has a high probability to crit due to faster swing rate. When running low on health, find a safe spot to use Bonk and quickly find some health or go to a resupply locker. Pairing it with a full boost of the Baby Face Blaster makes it a good weapon to make a quick escape or rush at enemies. Never use Crit-a-cola as you can die in a second as soon as you take some damage.

Soldier:

Forget the Market Gardener, use the pan instead. Rocket jumping with Mantreads with a pan is another upgrade to the trolldier.

Pyro:

Degreaser works well as you will be able to switch weapons if half a second. Top it off with Reserve Shooter to switch in a flash.

Demoman:

For all-out melee only, use Bootlegger/Ali Wee Booties for +25 extra health, use Chargin Targe or Splendid Screen for speed boost and explosive/fire resistance, and you got the deadly Demopan here. The Tide Turner is the best shield to use here, as you have full turn control and if you get a kill during a charge, you can charge again. Use Sticky Jumper as the demo version of the trolldier.

Heavy:

Your speed is the main disadvantage, so use the Buffalo Steak Sandvich for that extra speed boost and dealing mini-crits, but be careful when taking damage as you take 25% more damage. As soon as you leave spawn, throw that BSS on the ground and touch the resupply locker, then stand on top of the dropped BSS and eat, you now have another piece of steak in reserve w/out stealing health kits.

Engineer:

Medic:

For a speed boost, use the Overdose. The Quick-fix is the best medigun to fill up the Ubercharge. The speed boost only works if the Overdose is equipped.

Sniper:

Use Jarate, not much to say here. Don't even bother using Razorback, Danger shield, or Cozy camper if you really want to weaken yourself.

Spy:

How on Earth can you backstab with a frying pan that weighs 15 pounds???

Tips

• Keep panning your teammates at spawn to charge your pan for crits.

• Taunt after every pan kill, to make players show the pan some respect.

• Be annoying with the pan as possible. Make everyone's speakers explode, or headphone users' ears bleed.

Warnings

• Once you initiate a melee battle with a pan, don't switch to a ranged weapon. It doesn't matter if the enemy player is using a ranged weapon. Remember, you live as a panner, and you will die as a panner.

• The Pan is a loud weapon. Admins on trade servers hate this weapon so much that they ban the pan. However, if you can still use the pan on a trade server, pan like there's no tomorrow. And don't come crying that you got banned from a trade server. After all, you brought it on yourself.

• Excessive pan use in spawn as a Scout may cause a Scout pan swarm.
