Description
A unique super-culture possessed of superior mechanical technology and game-breaking advantages. Please note that this civ is NOT balanced against the others in the game. Only use it if you want serious advantages against the game. Alternately, set it as your foe for a truly daunting challenge.

New Leader: Play as Klah Zeksis, Supreme Mechanist of the Artificers. Due to my lack of artistic ability, the part of Klah Zeksis will be played by Bismark of Germany.

New Trait: Cogs and Gears - Unit progression has been completely reworked to focus on mechanical units, Mechanical units are now 50% stronger than normal. Additionally, the superior spirituality of the Artificers allows you to select an additional belief when founding a religion.

New Units: Land Ironclads, Landships, Land Leviathans, Airships, Steam Flyers, Sky Fortresses, Battering Rams, Ballista, Hwach'a, and more all make an appearance as new units available to the Artificers. Plus, just for Brave New World, the Artficiers have integrated the Siege Tower into their arsenal. Additionally, all normal mechanical units have received a 50% boost in power.

New Building: Machine Temple - The cornerstone of every Factory-City, this replacement for the Shrine provides an early-game boost with a +4 to faith, growth, production, and science. It also promotes faster generation of Great Engineers.

Note: In addition to Brave New World, this mod also uses resources from the Korea DLC or Civilization V: Gold Edition. This is required for the mod to function properly.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Is there a Vanilla version of this mod?
A: Unfortunately, many of the changes made to the Artificers require elements available only through the Gods and Kings expansion. There is no feasible way for someone with my level of skill to make a version of this mod that would work with the vanilla version of the game.

Q: Is there a Gods & Kings version of thsi mod?
A: A: Yes! It was in fact the original version of this mod. A Gods & Kings version of The Artificers is available.

Q: I have installed the mod and activated it correctly, but Klah Zeksis isn't showing up under the list of leaders.
A: I've done some digging around the internet and it seems like this is a not-unheard-of problem with Civ 5 custom civilization mods in general. First, ensure that you have the Gods and Kings expansion installed and activated. If that does not work, try to unsubscribe the mod, clear your cache, and then restart Steam and re-subscribe to the mod. If you've done it correctly, the game will re-download the mod. If this does not work, then you have my apologies, but I have been unable to find any other solutions to the problem.

I tried this for the first time and it was interesting - but as soon as I got my first Prophet and tried to create a religion, it bugged and I can't continue the game. The "Found Religion" button never highlights so it can be selected - and you can't advance the turn until you found the religion. Thus, the game is essentially frozen. Any help here?

I changed this civ's colors to black & white to match their icon. With your permission, I'd like to post the small section of code I added here for anyone else who'd like to make the same change.

I really enjoy this mod and the Ancients and The Eugenicists. Are you planning on remaking these 3 Great Super Civs or yours in Civilization 6 when the official Mod tools are out?

Hi im having troubles with actually starting the game not because its crashing but in the set-up screen when i go and choose the artificers all the display icons for the unique units, buildings, etc cover the start game button so that when i try and start the game it goes back to the select civilization screen. I know you can go through advanced setup and start the game from there but i want to play a map with a scenario which requires you to use the main page to setup this might be a dumb question but is there anyway to start the game without needing to click the start game button or is there a way to hide all the unique icons so i can select it?

when I play this civ, I barely have access to any units. All I can build are warrior, axemen, lancer, marine, paratrooper and bazooka.

Ive got a problem. Everytime I try to load a game with the artificers as my civ the game freezes and closes out.
