Rapture (Bioshock)

Description
Adds Rapture from Bioshock to the game as a playable civ under Andrew Ryan.

Requires Gods and Kings and/or Brave New World. There will not be a vanilla version.

{LINK REMOVED}

UA: No Gods or Kings. Only Man: Specialists provide +1 of their respective yields. Religious Buildings increase Great Person Generation rather than providing Faith.

UU: Little Sister: Replaces the Great General. Increases the healing rate of adjacent units and recieves a movement bonus from stacked units. Stacked units recieve a +15% Combat Boost.

UU: Big Daddy: Replaces the Marine. +15% Combat Bonus when stacked with a Little Sister. Adjacent enemy units suffer a -15% Combat Penalty.

UB: Monument to Human Achievement: Replaces the Shrine. +10% Great People Generation and units built in this city produce Great Generals +10% faster. Does not provide faith.

UB: Temple of Man: Replaces the Temple. +20% Great People Generation and units built in this city produce Great Generals +20% faster. Does not provide faith.

UB: The Great Chain: Replaces the Grand Temple. +15% Great People Generation in all cities and all units produce Great Generals +15% faster. +2 Culture. Must be built in the Capital. Does not provide any of the Grand Temple's usual bonuses.

Andrew Ryan builds toward the tall side and focuses primarily on producing great people. He generally goes for science victories, but is quite flexible in this regard. He's quite isolationist, generally ignoring city states, and is hesitant to forge alliances. He is rarely eager to go to war, though he is not afraid of war either, and he has a low nuke flavour and will rarely ask for tributes or favors.

I, of course, do not own Bioshock. Bioshock is the property of Irrational and 2K. Art assets in this mod are taken from screenshots and promotional materials and are the property of their respective artists. As well, civilopedia entries are taken largely from http://bioshock.wikia.com.

Critical feedback and Balance concerns are welcome as always. Remember that updates will break saved games so I recommend finishing any ongoing games before updating to a newer version. As always, enjoy.

I keep running into a situation where the AI with this civ never finishes their turn. idk if it's bugged or just incompatible with one of the literally hundreds of other mods I'm using, but it's easier for me to just not use this one than to check exactly what's going on.

@Gsanta: It's working well for me.
Maybe it's an incompatibility with another mod. Do you use EUI, perhaps?

Does this still work? My game crashes every time i go into city manger when i use it and im not sure why.

So since this civ is so Great People–focused, does it have custom Great People? Eg. Great Scientists Suchong, Tenenbaum & Gil Alexander; Great Merchants Fontaine & Sinclair; Great Engineer Daniel Wales; Great General Atlas; Great Artist/Writer Sander Cohen (for his Quadtych and The Wild Bunny, respectively); Great Musician Grace Holloway; spy Stanley Poole; and if Great Prophets had names, Sofia Lamb and Simon Wales.

I think the Little Sister should be an Archaeologist replacement instead of Great General. Y'know, that's their job – roaming around, extracting stuff. They'd be usable three times instead of one, and instead of extracting artifacts, they'd extract… hmm. Can't think what ADAM would represent. A random promotion for each unit built in the Little Sister's city of origin?

Also the Big Daddy's 'unique' ability is really underwhelming.

@everyone going on about the 'irony' that this mod requires Gods & Kings: If there were no Gods & Kings, Andrew Ryan would have nothing to rebel against and no reason to go off and found his own city. ;)
(G.E.W.P.) Several questions Sep 10, 2018 @ 5:39pm
I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, Where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well.
