Highways over Wall v5 - Complete Collection
40 items
Description
This is the ramp for my Highways over Wall. A single guardrail is traced in both side and the elevated section trace a supporting wall that will follow the curvature of the road.

---------------------------

Patch Notes in this v5:

- Now these Highways are Adaptive Network Roads and require the Adaptive Network Mod (AN) to be used to the fullest.
- Redo from scratch all Guardrail. Now they are more uniform when switching between different roads and between segment and node.
- Redo all Markings Textures. Dash are longer and more spaced for a more realistic aesthetic.
- Redo from schratch the Automatic Marking System on nodes. Now they use the AN Custom Connection Group to avoid unwanted interactions with other roads
- New pieces, National Roads over Wall
- Added variuos customization options with Adaptative Network Mod (described later in this manual).
- Finally fixed vertical signage for Left Hand Traffic!
- One Way Highways automatically align to the left side (right for LHT) of the roads

I Suggest you to read the collection description for more information on the new feature of this road

the v5 change of this network creates significant problems. if not using AN, then street lighting appears on both sides of the road. they can be removed with network skins, but there is no way to revert to left/right only lighting without AN. Since this ramp (and the narrow one without the emergency lane) have been re-used in the v5 AN set, I would appreciate it if you could create a new asset with the original non-AN ramps and their functionality, to work and align with the original non-AN highway set. I also prefer the visuals of the non-AN set.

There are other problems with the AN update. Some nodes of this ramp, when set to "bend" with node controller, then appear with the cable-stayed bridge visuals. Setting them to other node types fixes it, but then duplicates the lane markings. Since the update, many nodes involving all of the over wall networks lose their IMT settings on load, or disappear entirely.

@zerio also, I just realized you're asking about that extra lane there in the image. That's an emergency lane, so an off ramp was used and an extra lane added for emergency traffic. You could choose not to include that with a regular vanilla walled road

@zerio You can "center", i.e. align the edge of the nodes using Node Controller. That said, this is way way easier to get a clean highway wall on/off ramp than vanilla.

Hey, what was the reason your ramp off to the side? Not centered like vanilla one?

@uncle ron Thanks. I Correct immediately. No, it's not necessary.

@SimoG hi. Of all your assets in this highways collection, this asset is the only listed as requiring Mass Transit. Is that correct?

@SimoG you can solve that with a separate version, of course. Have it be a bus/taxi lane in vanilla (which I think requires after dark) which allows service vehicles, busses, taxies, SoS, by default.
SimoG  [author] Feb 24, 2021 @ 2:41pm
@Mornach it is possible but I think there would be a couple of problems: those who do not use TM:PE would end up with cars that use the hard shoulder with related lane math problems. Then, where there are ramps, the services would not have the possibility to pass over because, if there is a queue at the exit/entrance, they would be hindered frustrating the effort

@Mornach even so, it would mess up your one-click "dedicated turning lanes" and S.O.S. still allows police cars "on patrol" and other vehicles not responding to an emergency
