Patching Quake II

Patching for Quake II - Music, Textures and Co-op

Quick and Easy Download and Patching

Used with the help from a post by Sirius104 on the old steam forums

Patching and High Res Packs

Please note, this will delete your save files!

-After Quake II has been installed via steam, Install this patch. Make sure you direct the unzip to the correct steam folder (Typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\quake 2)

-Install Quake 2 Ultimate patch which will add all the music. More info can be found at

-Download high res packs from these links and place into the Quake II directory. Rename the .zip to .pk3 on both files and put them in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\quake 2\baseq2 folder

For co-op mode:

-Go to www.coopordie.com and unzip the Quake II Co-op patch to your Quake II directory
(Typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\quake 2)

-Download and unpack KMQuake2 co-op support into your Quake II directory

-Create an account on www.coopordie.com and put your username and password into the coopordie.bat file in Quake II folder. Use this file to launch the game for co-op

Steam Guides is trash place. And this guide is one of it. This guide place random staff (uncompatible with each other things) (no need to coop mod!) links and did it in random order. So even YamagiQ2 links not help here.

to University of Michigan file any more. JUST like Steam games Help,and old links
from college email accounts or dead voters still getting ballots.
