Simple Stacker Automatisation
By Arran Chace
A simple Logic Circuit to stop a machine from producing after reaching Stacker Limit

Step 1
Connect stacker to a Machine, and wire it up

Step 2
Turn the Logic Screws to these settings

Step 3
Turn the Logic Chips on, and then
Use the Dail on the Stacker for the amount of Items it should produce,
Then operate the machine as normaly, select the item you want to make, hit Activate.

Then when the Number you set on the Stacker dail is reached, the Machine will deactivate.
Important Note!!
This system is far from perfect, and when you change the type of item produced, there is a change of the stacker blocking, even if there nothing in the chutes the stacker doesnt operate.
But the handle states nothing is in the stacker present either, and to solve this you have to remove the stacker and place it again, adjust the logic back.

This is a pain in the butt, i've been trying to make the system fool proof, but it seems the Logic readout of the stacker at how its stand currently in game is seriously lacking development, and is non functional, so the usage of this is very limited and totaly unrelaiable as for now.

If changes to the stacker are made to improve the system i will update the guide.

@pacman_sa its a guide of 8 years ago, since then there has been alot of changes to the game, and i even forgot about this guide, as its severely oudated, and can be considered obsolete by now.

I changed the logic reader to a slot reader, export slot and then quantity variable. Seems to work; if you're making something fast (sheets or whatever) it'll make one more after ejecting the stack before stopping so I just go stack I want -1 and manual eject the last one

This does not work on version 0.2.5903.26007

I like it! I am using ExportQuantity instead of Exportslotquantity and it works great. the only thing you have to be careful of is how long it takes to make an item. for example iron sheets will make x1 extra while the stacker is still exporting.

Cool, a nifty little Logic setup.
Thank you!

They have to add readable attribute that the stacker got the diferent things. Then we could throw out previous items and start stacking the new ones

Devil sometime Fabricator uses more resources, sometime Fabricator spends more time than specialised machines. And if you need a hundreed units to produce, this little difference sometime comes with pain in the butt.

The stacker does exactly what the name states, it stacks stuff, so instead of getting 50x1 Iron sheets, you can get 1x50 iron sheets out, saves 49x times picking sheets up.

Problem is without logics the Machine keeps producing sheets till it runs out of resources.
So with this setup, you can select on the stacker the amount you want to have, IE 50 iron sheets, hit activate on the machine and when to stacker has 50 iron sheets in its inventory it throws the stack of sheets out and stops the machine from producing more.

Fabricator and Computer does in a way the same thing, but the specialized machines are faster, use less power and have each one or two items the fabricator cant make.
In the case of the Autolathe, the fabricator cant make Signs for example, It also cant make Paint what the tool maker can, and so on.

Because I really don't know what the stacker does, I'm curious; what's the benefit of using this setup as opposed to the Fabricator + Computer?
