The Forgotten Dungeons

The Forgotten Dungeons has risen from it's grave to once again contest curious minds. This update is my most ambitious so far and one I've struggled to release. You can check the preview image above to see more details or the changelog for all of the changes.

With this release I'm also hoping to get a Discord running so I can get a better guage of what players want.
As I'm expecting this update to be very imbalanced I'm asking players to please let me know of an greivances you may have through commenting here or from the discord.

Old rumours can stir a town.
And forgotten secrets may be found.

Whatever the case, the world is changing. So light your torch once again as there is plenty left to be done. Things that when compared to the aberrations of your ancestor seem paltry in comparison.

Your vigil does not end with this conclusion, fix what is left of your world and maybe, just maybe.

The Forgotten Dungeons is focused on remodeling the game to make players make more complex decisions. Difficulty will be increased but is aimed to avoid frustration. This mod is ultimately built around removing the benefit of stalling. Because of this stress healing has been very nearly removed and HP healing has been severely limited.

Please start a new game when playing this mod. It is in your best interests to experience The Forgotten Dungeons with a fresh estate.

The Crimson Court, Districts and Flagellant must be enabled.
The game modes Stygian, Bloodmoon and Radiant are not supported or recommended.


- An overhauled combat system
- An expanded Curio list and many more interactions, a cheatsheet can be found here: link[docs.google.com]
- A reworked inventory systems with more items to use both for combat and as tools
- Nearly every skill in the game has been changed
- A different health system that puts more power in your hands
- Shifted upgrades to grant more satisfying and balanced hero leveling
- Supplies that are no longer automatically provided for, you'll have to find them yourself
- Overhauled heroes like the new vestal who can only get so much power before her gods reject her prayers
- Bleeds and Blights now have better identities. Bleeds last longer and blights are more dangerous but harder to apply. There's even the new execute mechanic that allows some heroes to bleed out low health enemies
- Positioning is now more important than ever, hitting the back ranks is now more difficult for heroes and monsters
- Most monsters have been reworked or heavily edited to survive longer and provide more interesting fights where monsters stay as a group of four for longer
- Every trinket has been changed to balance them together as much as possible. However they are not as abundant as they were before
- More impactful quirks that really show what your heroes are afraid of
- And plenty more to be discovered and a lot more to come


English is the only supported language at the moment. (Playing in other languages will cause English text to appear in place of most new strings)
Certain curio interactions will not have sound
Also some interactions will have the wrong sound
Some items and curio results may seem to give you nothing, when that happens it may be a buff that cannot be displayed, check the curio cheatsheet if you can before you report it

This mod affects many files and any mod that effects gameplay in any manner is likely to be imbalanced with The Forgotten Dungeons anyways so anything beyond art mods are highly unrecommended.
