You will need Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) to properly use the map.
This is a requirement for the Trouble in Terrorist Town gamemode[ttt.badking.net] that the map is designed for.

(If you're too cheap to buy CS:S, check out this guide to get CS:S content for free, legally. However, I do recommend just buying the game because installing the content manually is a lot of work.)

Celebrating reaching 200,000+ subscribers for version beta 2 (now 350,000+ woah!) and being played by top YouTubers like PewDiePie and Funhaus, I decided to give back to the community by polishing up the map with V4. I've fully optimized the map (no more lag issues!) and added a lot of new features, gameplay improvements, and aesthetic improvements. This is Nuclear Power in its finest form - add it to your TTT server now!

TTT Nuclear Power, AKA Vanguard Nuclear Power and Atomic Research Facility, is a large-scale Trouble in Terrorist Town map for Garry's Mod.


Map Features:

• Teleporter system – easier to move around the map & more playable with less players
• A wide variety of traitor traps (with one VERY large trap)
• Reactor meltdown traitor objective (see instructions below)
• Traitor tester - activated by a power cell hidden in a random location
• Large main lobby area with restrooms and break room
• Reactor control room area with futuristic nuclear reactor
• Anti-gravity testing chamber
• Lower and upper lab areas
• Toxic waste disposal area (must put on a radiation suit to enter)
• Working escalators, elevators, and playable elevator shafts
• Supports up to 46 players (expanded from 32 in previous version because why not)
• Sandbox compatibility – map automatically detects Sandbox or TTT gamemode and allows access to traitor areas/objectives in Sandbox mode
• Secrets / Easter eggs (let's see how long it takes for you to discover them :)
• Fidget spinners (wait what?)

Map Objective Instructions:

1. Find a randomly generated vault door code, written on a random bulletin board in the map each round.
2. Type the code into the vault keypad to open the vault.
3. Open the safe toward the rear of the vault to obtain the keycard.
4. Innocents - destroy the keycard using the dematerializer machine next to the safe. Good job! You just prevented a nuclear meltdown!
5. Traitors - bring the keycard to the reactor core control panel and put it into the card slot. (NOTE: Bringing the keycard outside the vault is considered a traitorous act and will sound an alarm)
6. Press the button to cause a reactor meltdown that kills all innocent players!
7. (optional) If you are in Sandbox gamemode, there is a green flashing button on the control panel to reset the reactor to its normal state.

Note on objective balance: The objective is balanced by spawning the vault code in a random location and also having the code more likely to appear farther away from the vault. Also, the Innocents with their larger number (75% of players) are more likely to win the objective by getting the keycard first and destroying it with the dematerializer right next to the safe. Given these circumstances and the randomness of the code, it is not likely that rounds will be repeatedly (or quickly) won by Traitors, and the Traitors must be skilled to pull off this objective.

I used an online text-to-speech generator, but I can't remember which one. It was over 10 years ago though, so with recent advances in text-to-speech technology there is a good chance the website I originally used is gone.

@Cthulhu903 - This is the final version. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I can't think of anything I'd want to change. I had a pretty expansive to-do list for V4 and crushed through everything before releasing it. I've been done with Garry's Mod mapping for a while now because I love VR development so much. But I always answer comments on my maps, and still hop into TTT once in awhile!

I should also mention that this map is what gave me the confidence to do a career pivot and become a game developer full-time. Right now I'm working on my own VR game called "VELOCIBLASTER" (feel free to search it if you're curious) and I hope to support custom maps because I absolutely love that aspect of Garry's Mod, and it's healthy for a game's growth and longevity.

Honestly, I can't believe Garry's Mod is just as popular as it was 15 years ago. When looking at the stats for this map, the downloads are still climbing just as much as when I first released it, which is hard to believe. User-generated content is what keeps games alive!

@Jack Bauer - Hey! I remember playing TTT with you years ago! Great to hear from you, and thank you so much for your kind words. That truly means a lot.

I did go big with the map - it was a wonderful creative outlet for me, and was a fun side project for years as I continued to make updates to it. I just wanted to keep creating, thus it grew pretty large. The teleporters were the best solution I could use to help with smaller player counts without cutting any of the map's content. I loved Half Life also, so I wanted to make something that was in-universe but a competitor to Black Mesa (some of that "lore" can be found in certain places like the conference room projector).
