Rust is a mod for Unturned made by a trio called "Kiket", "NickLies" and "Substans". Rust makes Unturned a lot more crafting and building focused than the vanilla game and brings most weapons and guns from the original Rust game into Unturned.

Mantis island has been carefully handcrafted, stone by stone, tree by tree. Thus not all resources are scattered across the map evenly. Whilst you might find a lot of stone in the grass biome, you won't find a lot of metal. This has to be (mostly) gathered in the desert biome. This forces the players to move around the map if they want to farm efficently.

If you want to step up your game and gather materials for the high end weapons in the game you should check out one of the "Monuments", like the Airport, Harbour or the Trainstation.
