Description
The original ship design is not my own. This is based off the Kshatra Light Cruiser that hasn't been updated in a long time, and felt a little incomplete.

I've made a lot of changes from the original design, and it has really been doing a great job as my mobile base. It is also capable of supporting a co-op group pretty well. There is plenty of room for HV's and SV's inside. Additional docking is available on the roof.

Not only did we add more turrets, but we upgraded to the new retractable style for a much cleaner overall look.
The previous build had 21 turrets, and now we're presenting with 27 turrets.

6 Rocket Turrets
6 Cannon Turrets
6 Minigun Turrets
4 Plasma Turrets
4 Pulse Lazer Turrets
1 Artillery Turret
4 Sentry Guns
Multiturret
Drill Turret

And then there are still the standard forward-shooting weapons.
4 Pulse Lasers
4 Rocket Launchers

I also increased the O2 storage over the previous builds so that kicking it in doesn't drain 80% of the supply in the tanks.

I've tripled the number of growth plots to expand the garden on both sides, added a few doors, and removed some blocks that were mostly for looks to counter the weight of the added plots and fuel tanks. We also fleshed out the interior with carbon to reduce CPU usage, but left the combat steel outer hull.
Yeah, lots more fuel tanks, and they're all T3 tanks. It eats fuel getting off planet, but honestly I only land it on moons these days.

Upgraded the rear hangar door from 5x3 to 9x5. Increased the height of the rear hangar section, and moved the bottom hangar doors to the roof. This gave us more hangar space for SV and HV vehicles. I increased the size of the rear landing shelf a little bit as well.
I also added some deco to the empty side bays next to hydroponics. It's not bad for living quarters, but I think I could do more with it later.

In the end, this is your mobile base. It's great for a big team, and is good at taking a beating.

Still a nice rework. Your new comment just brought me back here :)

Got rid of the MK# variants and figured I'd go back to updating the original. I have the feeling that any changes to the game from this point forward will only require very minor changes to the build, if any.

you're right - a top door also is an option. :) But I wanted to keep the Star-Warsish bottom hangar. It's compromise in the end. But so pretty ... ;)

I agree. This ship is designed entirely to be a mobile orbital base. I rarely use the HV for anything outside of planetary activities early game.

I did just complete a re-design though which has a much larger rear hangar door, and the bottom doors have been moved to the top. It's not quite as pretty, but you might find it more functional for what you are doing.

Thanks for linking the original Kshatra! Nice job! :)

@Chucknator:
There's a reason for having the hangar doors on the bottom. Keeps the silhouette low while still having large hangar doors. It's also made with space in mind, not primarily as a landing vessel. Makes more sense now?
