Fix for low framerate/stutterer(tested on amd gpu on windows 7) might work for nividia users and win8 & 10

If you have a high end rig but just cant believe why the game is running like sh*t!, try this guide

Frustruation

Let me just start by saying: Holy sh*t!

I wasted almost an entire day searching around the web to see if i could fix the framerate issue. i know it couldn't be my specs(rx 480, 16GB of ram, i5 5676c) -"so why the hell is it?" i thought

after many hours of frustration i decided to go into task manager, check the process of the game and set it to high..... THE GAME IMPROVED BY 40+ fps SO NOW I WAS GETTING ~75fps with dips into the 40s.

"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ something is still not right!!" i thought

kept messing around with it and decided to go into task manager again to see if i could do something else with the game process. i went ahead and right clicked the game proccess/ set affinity to only use cpu0 and cpu1.... THE GAME STARTED RUNNING AT 142 FPS!!!!

SO FREAKING HAPPY RIGHT NOW

note: later on i put the proccess back to normal and just set the affinity to cpu0 and cpu1 and i was still getting 142fps(which is the framerate limit that i got in my amd radeon crimson settings to keep my the game and freesync monitor synced.)

Steps

1. Go into the game folder(steam library/ right click game/ property/ local file/ browse local file..

2. Rename Darksiders2.exe to Darksiders2fix.exe

3. open notepad and type the code below (this will set the game to be running on core 1 and 2)

start /affinity 3 Darksiders2fix.exe

4. name the file Darksiders2.bat and save it in the games folder

5. download the program called bat to exe converter and convert Darksiders2.bat to Darksiders2.exe

6. ????? profit!!!

And can someone tell me what the fucking effect of a pause for a fraction of a second when hovering over the parameters in the main menu, start the game and so on, and in the game itself, the same bullshit happens when hitting

Thanks, (Task Manager > Details > Darksiders2 >Set Affinity > Uncheck Core 3 and 2 leaving only 0 and 1) Works! It also works on Surge 2 as well, seems like most badly ported games need this kind of fix.

and FYI, affinity 3 = normal priority. 4 is above nromal, 5 is high, 6 is realtime (dont ever select this for any game)

set the cpu priority to normal? how exactly is that supposed to have any effect when thats what any and every program launches with by default unless set differently by the user?

While the game is open; alt tab out of it, open up task manager.
under procceses look for the game running(darksiders), right click the game and select set priority, next set it to high. see if that helps

also what cpu do you have?

Looking in msi afterburner i found the problem when i are in open world my fps is 27-40 and my processor go to 70% all four nucleos when i are in dungeon my fps is 60-140 an my four nucleos are in 98% help me and my gpu are in 46% in all time
