Description
What this does?
Well this is just a reskin for the Danes.

Sorry to all past subscribers, the mod got banned due I suppose copyright of the image of ragnar from vikings tv series and maybe the typography.

Why did I do it?
Forefathers vanilla are high medieval vikings (1000 around) when they should be dark medieval.

Historical Background
For those who don't know, scandinavia didnt held formal armies as such, just as feudal japan, the viking raiders were normal people who tend the farm, hunt or fish for name a few practices. They harvested in spring, raid in summer and in winter they sheltered in their houses.

Second thing in consideration, they were bad metalcrafters, they didn't had much iron or steel to spare, therefore they tried to use the less amount of it in tools, weapons or armours. Thus making swords, chain mails and helmets expensive, 1 sword was worthy 1 cow, with the difference the cow will make you survive the winter.

What does this mod has?
1.- New faction icon
2.- New color for the faction, was blue now is orange
3.- New shield patterns made by me
4.- New faction leader reskinned
5.- New units reskinned
6.- Tiers and general visual progress
Tier I "naked" (this resembles the start of the dark ages)
Tier II Clothes and leather (this resembles the common scandinavian medieval outfit)
Tier III Leather and "jamberson" (this resembles the high class, the prepared warriors)
7.- Huscarls, royal huscarls, thrall spears, spearmen and skirmishers can be created by danes

If you notice something like, missing stuff, cloth collision or anything tell me.

i like that huscarls can be made by the danes after all their axe is called the dane axe

You are my hero! I have been so mad at this game, for the Danes not have Huskarler (Huscarls) since it is a Danish "thing" :D

I really like the faction emblems you've made for these mods. They do, however, look slightly out-of-place when seen alongside other emblems. I haven't seen a nice, comprehensive emblem mod that isn't either A) unfinished B) part of a larger mod (ie Europa Perdita) and unavailable on its own. I was wondering, if you had the time or inclination, would you consider making a complete set for all the factions? Especially emergent factions. If so, I'd be grateful, these are really neat.

@Big-Bad-Teddy-Bear thanks, i would like to, even to reskin the buildings to be more scandinavian like, but to be honest dont have idea how to, dont know if it is edited on 3d or 2d as I would suppouse, butttt again if you point me some link or so i gladly would try.

pd1:Im very ashamed and ask your forginess for taking so long to answer.
pd2:As i said or i believe i said i would try to do a version 2 of my reskins improved but i would like to know what you think, would you like it? At the end this is for you if not i would kept it for myself

Could you do something similar with danes in aoc? Just not remove all metal and sword, but at least make it much more rare. Like no metal helmets for any troops except a few of the hirdmen, general unit, berserkers and huscarls?? rest is leather armor and helmets? :) would be much appreciated. I have tried to do it, but cant get the damn mod to work :P

@RagnarIronFist No problem :D haha, been fun playing as the Danes :P Though re-enacting in North East England, more of a mix of Danes and Norwegian Vikings :steamhappy: Nedd them Kievan Rus over. ehe.

@Fauerholm any help given is greatly welcome, though the university/college give me little time, personally I dont think vikings series is so pop, its made by history also read some articules about it, actually i plan on realeasing a standalone that includes the 3 cultures.

Good idea, but please do not use the series Vikings for inspiration, almost anything in pop culture about vikings is brutally wrong.
I recommend you contact some reenactors or historians, I know several on the subject and would love to help if you wish to make it more authentic. :)
