Just like the original game, it is a pretty good Doom conversion game but in VR.
I do have to recommend taking frequent breaks with this game as you can get quite dizzy and nauseous during playing. One small issue i have is that the starting pistols do not have auto-fire like in the original. It starts to become tedious to shoot when using a controller in VR. Other than that its quite fun.

After fully completing this game with all achievements, I do have to say this game not that bad but its not what I hoped for years back when the ARG was just starting. Before I continue, I did play the release version of this game which was super buggy and broken. Over the year of patches in preparation for the Steam release, I do have to say the game is in a much better although not perfect position now so I'll give them that.
Overall I think this game did an alright job for being a modern Oddworld game but I feel like there's too many frustrating aspects of it that I question why this game took several years and delays for the final product to be released. The most frustrating part about this game has to be its tower defense sections that feel like you need to search up a tutorial on how to finish them to make sure you save as many Mudokons as possible. If it ain't the tower defense sections, it has to be the removal of features that were a part of previous Oddworld games. The ability to possess other creatures other than sligs, the huge role of gamespeak with puzzles, quick saves, skipping cut-scenes on the first run, different Mudokon moods and behavior, a fart button, all the ring abilities like invisibility and healing, etc. I'll at least say that the cut-scenes, visuals, and environments are the best part about this game.

Verdict
I heavily think that if OWI/Lorne went with a NNT remake approach to Exoddus but with Soulstorm's design, graphics, and cut-scenes then this game would've been more enjoyable and less controversial for all Oddworld fans. You may not like Exoddus Lorne, but everyone else does.
Also bring Vykkers Labs and Linux support to PC.

A nice little bonus that talks about the details on how the game was made. Its a good reading once you finish the game.
I also bought this to support the dev. thank you for making this game, I found this game through a YouTube video then from a friend and I enjoyed it throughout.

Ah Oddworld's black sheep. Needless to say this game being released in the xbox era originally was enjoyable although frustrating when going for the 100% angelic ending. Man that was a grind. I wouldn't say this game is the worst of the series, i'd say its pretty average. I mean, Oddworld back then had to deal with rushing and budget problems. It also can be pretty cheap to pick up during the steam sales separately or in the Oddboxx. Now lets get into the good and bad of the game.
The good:
I didn't experience any crashing, lagging, graphical glitches, or controller problems as said in other reviews. The story was enjoyable throughout while having that Oddworld humor and having real life problems displayed like the abuse of fuzzles and extinction. The graphics are a step up from the old xbox version and so are most of the sounds.
The bad:
The controls are sometimes wonky. The sounds are mixed with the old xbox sounds meaning you get a noticeable fiesta of hd and compressed sounds. Fuzzles and Munch walk so dang slow. Just a pain to save them and play Munch without a wheelchair. Because of that, most of the time i just use Abe unless it forces me to use Munch. The last few levels are just a grind and you have to willpower through it if you're doing a 100% save run. Those labor eggs can get really annoying picking them up one by one and throwing them only for them to break at the slightest touch.

All in all, this was a pretty okay game to get through when I was waiting for Oddworld Soulstorm. I never got through finishing it. It was a pretty rewarding thing to complete the game fully. One of the problems I had are the Spooce achievements where you cant finish them. I think you have to use the old port for that one, i'm not sure. If you're an Oddworld fan, yeah sure give this a go. If you're getting into Oddworld, I don't think this should be your first impression.
