Early Access Review
This game is quite fun, it has a really nervous gameplay (like many boomershooter) but it's clearly not done yet.

This game is quite illegible, with vibrant colors and blood effects and explosion and you jump everywhere and everything (and the graphism don't help that), you never know what is hitting you and what you are hitting. But that's okay. It's a boomer shooter, you can run and gun without really thinking, you will always hit something, it's part of the design.

The wall jump suck. It works when you have two walls and need to run, but everywhere else it's a pain in the ass. You always sucking a wall you didnt meant to, the bounce is weird. Fix it.

The choice of enemies is really interesting ! You have enemies that need's to be stunned to be killed, which forces you to use the shotgun, other that sometimes show their weakspot and you have to be quick to kill them, and many more. This design is really cool to see, it changes from other boomer shooter where it's just a question of how many hp they have.

It feels weird to leave the level without "clearing" it tho. And sometimes ennemies keep spawning, and sometimes they all die at once. Always bugs me a little.

The roguelike/lite style is really "meh". I just feel like i'm redoing the same level and it doesn't feel different, no matter which upgrade i'd have. Either embrasse the style more, with really impactfull upgrade that we can "feel" in game, (and maybe a bit more various level, cause the grappling hook tutorial is boring to redo) or ditch it. I don't feel like i'm playing a "run" of dimensional slaughter, and that's an issue.

The idea of killing to heal is cool, and to keep a bit of a challenge you need to watch your amo, which is fair.

BUT
I believe "The inbetween" fight with our nemesis is a really bad one. First it's a 1v1, but hey, no problem, ULTRAKILL has V2 and it's a great fight ! But this one doesn't work well. Because in ULTRAKILL, you heal on hit. Here, you heal on kill. It's a big difference, and even tho you can heal on hit in this fight it's first : weird because we are not used to, and second it's really not effective. Another issue is that it's illegible. Purple enemy on purple background that goes fast as f, what can go wrong ?. In ULTRAKILL V2 is red on blue or yellow, and king sisyphus is white on red. And he SCREAMS his attacks, whereas here i don't even know what hit me. You could say "Well it's supposed to be a hard fight, it will take some retry, that's why you can try as long as you want !". But for some reason, after running smoothly for an hour, the game is slowly but surely loosing FPS (you might want to check your leaks). When i've beat it i didn't even felt joy or relief.

The animation are really cool, and the lines are quite funny. And i havent talked about the music, but it's a real pleasure to listen to it while destroying hords of various enemies.

Overall, the game is really fun to play and i recommend trying it out (at least the demo to get a first taste). This game has a lot of potential and i'm sure it will become a real great game once all the issue are fixed.
