There's a million reviews saying "you can play as a cat," so I'm going to make this my first serious review.

I have not completed the game yet. I'm only about halfway through, I imagine. But here's my thoughts so far.

Pros:
— You can play as a cat.

And I do mean intensively play as a cat. There are tons of environment interactions. Scratching bed posts and drinking water, playing with other cats, meowing to cause the environment to react to solve puzzles, or attract enemies. It's very interactive and EXTREMELY satisfying. Plus, you can sleep on top of the cowboy robot.

— Chase scenes

I swear I thought this game was a horror game at some points. Was I scared? Not particularly. Were the chase scenes still tense? Immensely so. They are REALLY good, especially the first one.

— Creative Puzzles

There are many puzzles in this game, and trying to solve them all by interacting with everything in the environment is very fun. My favorites are ones where I have to corral the enemies.

— Interesting Story

So far the story, and how they give it to you, are very interesting. I like it. There's something deeper to this game, and I can't wait to find out what.

— Pretty Graphics

I am not saying 'stunning' or 'gorgeous,' but the lighting is amazing in some parts of the game, and the graphics are just realistic enough to make me say 'woah,' every now and again, but just cartoonish enough that I don't get locked in uncanny valley hell 24/7. The cat looks goofy every now and then, but otherwise, nice graphics.

Cons:
— Cat Gets Hurt

I don't care. The cat does get hurt and you can die, it's a video game. But I know some people are gonna be very upset about this, so fair warning. Cat will not be safe.

— Finnicky Controls

I am playing on PC, but the controls are very finicky. Specifically the option to jump tends to sometimes jump precisely where I need to not jump resulting in my immediate failure of the puzzle/chase scene and subsequent death.

— Puzzles are Often Painfully Simple

I do think they can do better with the puzzles. Sometimes it's just a matter of 'move this object over here' and nothing else, which makes me feel like I'm five.

— Prone to Lag Spikes

Typically, right after a cut scene, I lag to death. Which is bad because most cut scenes are right before I get swarmed by the enemies. And then I die. I do not lag at any other points in the game, and it otherwise runs smoothly. If you have a potato computer, you're going to cry if you try to play this.

— Some Bugs are Present

In one puzzle, I needed to corral the enemies away from the door so I didn't get devoured as I try to push an object. The enemies decided to clip into the door I was moving them through as I closed it, and then proceeded to refuse to move that spot regardless of whether I was in range, or meowed at them, or anything. There's a few bugs like this, but they can be worked around and often can be reset via deaths. ( The game autosaves )

Final Thoughts:
I like the game. It's fun, it's charming, and they put a lot of love into it. The cons are minor enough that I don't care about them all that much, and I'm a cat. What else can I ask for?

I bought this game to play as a cat. I got that. Everything else is just DLC to me.

8/10. Very nice.
