Fun game, The Orcs and the Nemesis System are really cool. A little slow in the 1st act but picks up afterwards.

If you're familiar with Shadow of Mordor then play on Nemesis difficulty, perfect balance between challenging and fair in my opinion

Don't touch brutal or gravewalker, that is where fun goes to die

Darkest Dungeon is an excellent game you can get alot of mileage out of once you get past the learning curve. The atmosphere, character designs, sound design, and music all wrapped up in it's diorama-like presentation is a feast for the eyes and ears. It's an often difficult game as you trek your adventurers through perilous dungeons to collect treasure and slay foes, leading to tense moments with your back against the wall, and your heroes at their wits end as you're begging them to survive just one more hit on death's door before they're gone for good. Combat is pretty fun at first, as you learn the ropes your knowledge grows and you learn how to plan effectively how to manage your resources appropriately, knowing what Items are essential or passable in each expedition or learning what heroes perform best where and with what skills. However, once you got a firm grasp on the systems, and you got a good flow going, the threat of the dungeons begin to diminish, to the point that clearing rooms of foes can begin to feel repetitive. You drop your guard as you become comfortable. Then one bad roll from an unexpected shuffle, to an untimely critical hit will bring you right back to reality. No matter how good you get the omnipresent threat of badluck is always lurking ready to strike when you least expect it. It's unfair and will make you feel cheated, but it works to remind you to respect the game and it's rules.

Remind yourself, that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer...

Darkest Dungeon is not for everyone. It's frustrating, and emotional, and even repetitive after awhile, but it's still thrilling, tense, and engaging. Red Hook really outdid themselves here, and it's a game that I think people don't talk enough about. If you're interested at all then I implore you to give it a chance, especially for it's modest asking price.

It's fun, The music is nice, exploration is rewarding, movement is satisfying, and the pixel sprites are clean af. Combat can feel a little repetitive after awhile though. and it's rather short for a metrovania but it's still a good time and worth the pricetag

If i spent a dollar for every hour i've played tf2 then i'dve spent over 1000 dollars.

...Which I have...

What can i say, the game is fun. The complex combination of moving and shooting doesn't get stale. You always feel like you can get better. It's very difficult for new players to get into but once you soak your socks a little, it's hard to quit! I don't recommend if you have a gambling problem though, Cause unboxing crates will become your new cashpit if you let it

Early Access Review
This game is very divisive for me. On one hand I think the battle system is an improvement over pokemon. Stamina encourages organic strategy and it leaves nothing to chance. Discovering new places and creatures captures that same nostalgic feeling that pokemon does, The graphics are nice, the music is catchy, and the overall presentation is solid, But there's so many little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that wore me down if i'm honest. The game feels like a slog at times, Leveling up takes quite awhile, You're constantly facing against npc tamers with barely any room to breathe, in game currency is tight, keeping your team fully healed is annoying even if they give you a free fullparty heal on the go, It takes forever to get anywhere, progression is very linear, there's a distinct lack a variety when it comes to the different temtem you encounter early on, and the difficulty is all over the place. You'll often find tamers with a temtem several levels lower than a tamer with the same temtem you fought 30 minutes ago. And overall i think the 35 dollar price tag is too steep for what you're getting for now.

I will keep playing temtem for the time being. (might as well get my money's worth) And I know it's still very early for the game. If it continues to receive support, and a thriving competitive scene is established, i may stay interested in temtem. It just needs more balance and less grind, some nice quality of life changes. But for the time being, i can't recommend buying this game at full price. Being an mmo doesn't really enhance the experience either. Save your money, watch a playthrough, Play an old pokemon game, You'll get the same, if not more enjoyable experience from that.
