I wanna bash my head against the wall when I play this. Great game you should try it.

This game is my favorite metroidvania, period. Every aspect of this game was thought of. The only thing people may not enjoy is some of the backtracking that all metroidvanias have, but rest assured, the music and beautiful art-style makes just walking around an enjoyable experience. Walking into city of tears for the first time is still one of my favorite expiriences of any game. Do yourself a favor and pick up this masterpiece.

I understand that reviews should usually be written when a lot of time is invested in a game. In this case, I've decided to leave one after my first playthrough. Why? Because this game leaves such a beautiful and lasting impression in its short run time. In the 5 hours I played, the game has left its mark.

Obviously, this game's art is... wow. It is unbelievable. The use of foreground and background to change your perspective is not only visually pleasing, but serves as a device to remind the player of how small they are in context of their environment. But it also shows how one small person can change so much in so short a time.

Gris is concise and sharp, and yet also has this unmatched flow in its movement as well as the plot (akin to Ori in more than one way). This game has no dialogue, just incredible sound design and gripping ambiguity. I was amazed at how much care was given to every inch of this game.

Every note in the score, every shocking new discovery, every incredibly designed environment, everything in this game comes together in such a short time that it almost leaves you breathless.

I will play more of this game, I will get more collectibles, I just want to give myself time to realize what the game means to me, as should every one who plays this game. This is not only an experience meant for entertainment, it is meant to make you think about who you are in context to the rest of this confusing and often non-linear world.

This game was absolutely amazing. You can keep playing and it will never grow stale because of all of the unlockables and secret missions.
