I wanted to finish this game to its completion in full release before reviewing it so I could do it justice. This is a *spoiler free* review:

Wow. Just wow. In a world of horrible, badly made releases, strife with DLC, microtransactions, ads, glitches, bugs, $70 dollar price tags, and bad writing, Baldur's Gate 3 sweeps in and make the title of Game of The Year look like an understatement. It took me around 90 hours to complete my first run through of the campaign (which is spot on to Larian's estimation) and I only want to play more. I feel like I've been on a grand adventure where I made close friends and allies to defeat evil. The wonderful environments I explored that Larian set out for me felt complete, new, and beautiful. And to think, I've only explored half the game's maps.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a love letter to gamers everywhere. A complete experience for D&D players and non-D&D players alike for the price of a normal game with NO strings attached. Larian deserves every *ounce* of praise they get for this masterpiece.

Characters: 10/10

I loved each and every one of those dumb idiots. Depth, voice acting, and charming qualities to every one. Not to mention, the basic NPCs you interact with will come back later in the game, giving them meaning beyond "the guy that's at this location"

Story 10/10

Captivating from start to finish. Complete with twists, turns, and drama.

Combat 9/10

In my opinion, very fun, but I understand if turn-based isn't your thing. It's less action oriented and more strategy oriented. To the games credit, though, it does strategic combat very well, with each enemy having strengths, weaknesses, and special abilities. Give it a shot. You may like it more than you initially thought you would.

Length/Replayability: 10/10

At some point, Larian confirmed that BG3 had 17,000 endings. This is true, to an extent. However, these are minor permutations, such as certain Origin Character choices and how that effects *their* ending. From what I can see, there are about 6 MAJOR endings, maybe more maybe less. With so many class/race/team combinations, the replayability is obvious and wide. Remember: 12 classes, 46 subclasses, countless magic items. Build makers and min-maxers will have an absolute (heh) blast with this one.

Sound: 10/10

Phenomenal. The music will live on with me into my old age and just hearing the opening notes to "I want to live" will cause me to weep. Every satisfying spellcast, every orchestral swell when an enemy is felled fills my heart with glee. Not to mention, there is a boss in the game that sings his own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ song and it's a banger. 10/10, no, 11/10.

Bugs: 8/10

There were some minor graphical glitches in the game. However, there were ZERO game breaking bugs I encountered. Refreshing. The game crashed on occasion, but that was 5 times I counted over a 90 hour campaign. Not bad at all.

Overall: 9.5/10

Amazing experience from start to finish. Buy this game and support Larian and other great video game studios!

EDIT: HEY GANG This review was before the two patches that fixed a ton of bugs, pacing issues, QOL, and optimization. Since Larian is clearly commited to the post-launch improvement of the game, I'd like to update my review to an EASY 10/10!!!! Wonderful job, Larian Team!
