The game might be good enough to play in a year, assuming there'll be improvements. Right now, the flaws dampen the best parts of the experience to such an extent that it's hard to recommend at full price, even when you disregard the atrocious level of micro-transactions in a single player RPG.

Yes, I spent three years straight of my life only playing this series in my gaming free time.

No, I don't regret it.

From experience, if someone you're dating actually enjoys this game, it's a major red flag. On par with League of Legends.

Do NOT play it with them.

Break up immediately.

This is now my favourite game in the series. Such a satisfying conclusion to the hundreds of hours of storytelling, whilst simultaneously telling a touching individual story that sets up the future.

I'll never finish this game because, like most things in life, it feels wrong without who I was playing it with, but it was a good time while it lasted. It provided some good memories.

Aaand after a couple years I've done it.

This recommendation isn't just for CSIV, but for the series as a whole; it's the best JRPG series out there, by far, without contest.

Amazing game, but an especially awful localisation effort from Spike Chunsoft. The translation is of an exceptionally low quality, undermining the game's story and themes. I'd advise anyone to wait for the Committee of Zero's fan patch to release. It's currently estimated for late October.

Yet another really nice experience from my most beloved JRPG series - as others have undoubtedly said, please play the others before this; it enhances things so much.
