This is a nice little game, with a niche feling and more depth than it may look at first sight.
Also I absolutely LOVE the music. A beautiful piece of dark medieval 8bit that gives me the chills everytime :)

For some reason though, the music is set to off by default, and one have to manually go into settings to raise the volume. This is strange because the music is so good and it adds so much to the game while playing!

Gameplay wise, you'll find a little bit a of micro resource management, as you'll eventually want to carefully choose when and where you fire instead of always blindly firing at everything.
Firing consumes health, but defeated monsters have a good chance to drop a soul like object that will replenish it. Various power up will drop too and temporarily increase firepower.
I you manage your health well, you can then withstand a few hits before dying, and you could virtually go on forever as your health will replenish each time you pick a collectible.
Every monster has a different pattern and knowing them is the key to defeat them.

I think this game could have been a huge hit if only it had a little more features like more characters or a more general progression and long-term objectives that would balance the harsh overall difficulty.

Very nice little shoot/platformer
With a straightforward yet efficient approach, the mechanics teaching and level design are good, and the retro aesthetics are pleasant.
Except maybe the movement/jump physics that are a little too slippy to my taste, this short game deserves to be played. There is potential for a more consistent and fun adventure.
And it's FREE , so play it and support the developer!

The controls are a bit clunky and the game would benefit from a little more polish, but that game is straight up to the point, and I enjoyed it.
The game features some exploration and quests, the scenario is absurd and fun. It also features an interesting game mechanics during boss fights which I didn't see very often for a top down shooter.
Give a try !

Nervous action phases and great environments, though it was a lot of concrete and gory stuff. Still nice to play nowadays, but don't play it for the senario.

I remember playing that game on my PS3. It feels kinda nostalgic but I like the way the assumes itself. That being said, the environment art was pretty good at the time. The game is fast paced with a relatively comfortable evolution of skills. Nostalgia! I was happy to play it again.
I recommend it to people who (know how to) enjoy games like Onechanbara.
