I am a World of Warships player who likes to play Clan Battles with my clan. I also actively play Arknights and starting to branch into endgame content, such as supporterknights low op, and max/high-risk CC. Designs dorms occasionally in my free time or for dorm contests.

I have also dabbled in TF2 trading and Steam game review/curation; looking to go on MvM tours in the far future if I have the time.

Please comment on my profile as to the reason why you're adding me; thank you!

Review Showcase
9/10: Holy Potatoes: We’re in Space?! is a fun, hilarious, and enjoyable turn-based combat spaceship RPG that can be played for a huge amount of time, making it worth the price. I recommend this game to everyone who enjoy galaxy exploration, turn-based spaceship combat, and puns.

Pros:
+ Lots of content
+ Lots of customization
+ Flexible gameplay
+ Casual game mode for novice players
+ Hilarious food puns and references to popular culture
+ Replay-value
+ Decent soundtracks
+ Nice graphics
+ Cute artwork

Cons:
– Techno soundtracks are a bit generic and repetitive
– Lack of fruit characters, but this can be easily fixed

Holy Potatoes: We’re in Space?!, also known as HPWIS, is a turn-based RPG where you play as two lovable potatoes exploring the vast universe to try to find their lost grandfather while avoiding capture from the despicable empire of Eclipse. It is also a game where most of the characters are themed around food, such as eggs, pickles, tofu, and obviously potatoes.

Gameplay
HPWIS can offer you days of gameplay because of the immense amount of content it has and of the fact that you can replay it. To put it into context, one full play-through would take roughly 12-hours, since the game is packed with lots of humorous and plot-driving dialogue, turn-based spaceship combat, characters and enemies to meet, weapons to collect, and even hidden content. With each galaxy you explore, there is also a storyline that comes with it, allowing you to experience a number of side-plots. Due to the vast amount of weapons, crew members, pilots, and ships, HPWIS offers lots of customization and combat is very flexible, which also allows room for new game modes and mechanics. I have also enjoyed the number of hilarious food puns, like “I’m a black belt in Carrotee. Hiyaaa!”, and amusing references to popular culture, such as dialogues with Doraemon, Dr. Who, and Pokémon parodies.

The turn-based combat system is simple to understand and easy to pick up. In the beginning, the game lets you experiment with the basic types of weapons to let you find a suitable weapon combination. In the game, the time is measured out in Sols. When you explore planets or travel to other planets, one Sol is consumed. The limit Sols implemented on each storyline also allows you to manage your time and resources and to strategize more and also obliges you to move on to keep the game interesting. Even if the time limit is too harsh on some you, there is a casual game mode that removes the time limit, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game before you move on to the normal game mode.

Graphics and Artwork
The overall artwork design has a cartoonish theme, which brings about an attractive and colorful atmosphere. The graphics are also all right. In my opinion, the character designs ares exceptionally cute, especially because of the characters’ expressions and the fat space cat, which makes them awfully lovable. The fact that the developers of the game chose to base the characters on food makes the characters adorable. Since all the characters have a general structure and simple yet effective color schemes, it is very easy for the development team to create new character artwork, allowing to create more appealing characters. I suggest that the team could add more fruit characters, such as a peach or a watermelon, due to the lack of them.

Soundtrack
The game has decent and sometimes appreciable soundtracks that I find myself humming along to. With each galaxy, there is are different soundtracks for galaxy explorations, battles, and boss battles, which keeps things fresh and interesting. One negative aspect, however, is that the techno music is a little generic and repetitive.

Other Aspects
A major benefit is that the game’s developers have an active developer team who have created a Discord server[discord.gg]. You can chat about the game with other players, ask any questions and for support on the game, and provide suggestions for the developer team. This way, the developers can release updates based on your ideas to make the game even more interesting.

In conclusion, Holy Potatoes: We’re in Space?! is a fun, hilarious, and enjoyable turn-based combat spaceship RPG that can be played for a huge amount of time, making it worth the price. I recommend this game to everyone who enjoy galaxy exploration, turn-based spaceship combat, and puns.

The review will be updated accordingly with game updates.
