This game, despite being old, as stood the test of time. It's a wonderful game from my childhood that still fun to play whenever I jump back onto it. It's never a dull moment in this game, and will always hold a place in my hearts. That doesn't mean I don't know the bad stuff about it, because loving a game doesn't mean you see only the good parts, but you know what the flaws are and you either love them or are able to look past them. Lets go naming some shall we?

Pros:
The combination of RPG elements with Tower defence is smooth and feels natural.

Placement of towers is very free, with no grid system, allowing most combos to work at all but the hardest difficulties.

The progression through the game feels natural and isn't rushed or too slow, maps kick it into high gear in harder maps/difficulties.

Great fun while solo, and even higher amounts of laughter is heard in co-op.

A wide variety of characters and maps allow for insane combos and on the go planning.

The rush of power as you go leveling gear up or finding a super strong weapon is still exhilarating.

Finding people online is still plausable, with many people still going through the main game or helping others out in harder maps.

This final update has given even more playtime, with a huge amount of maps and gear to work towards.

Cons:

Late game can get a bit repetative and boring if not playing with talkative friends/not getting anything good for a long time

Much of the progressive content is DLC, with the hardest difficulty locked behind 4 DLCs (Eturnia shards) and with said difficulty needing 2 dlc Heroes (Summoner and EV) on just about all non-base game maps.

The hardest of maps will require specific characters with certain stats, with endgame maps requiring stats you won't have for a while without help.

Without a steam sale, all the DLC together can get a bit pricey for this game.

Sadly, this game won't be getting updated anymore for the re-imagined game is currently out (although there are community events).

All in all, If you find this game while it's on sale, grab it, you won't forget it, and if you can get your friends hooked on it, you'll both find easily hundreds of hours of fun with this.

This game is excellent, it has great gameplay, great tactics and has all the details of all the races/chapters ect. the different gamemodes and variety of maps mean that it shouldn't be boring anytime soon. The only downside I can see is the price, but even then I think it may be worth it. 9/10.
