Early Access Review
So, Worlds Adrift was a massive multiplayer online video game set in the world of Foundation. Early on in the development, the dev team was very involved with the still small player community. Lately, they have cared less and less about what the players want, and more about what they wanted the game to be.
Now, before I get too deep into my review, I have to say, I can understand some of the possible reasons they might have to do this, and I completely get why they are doing it this way as opposed to just a full stop on everything overnight.

The players, as far as I can tell, were a hugely creative influence on the team, and were the causes for many of the defining features of the game. The team, while they took all of this input from the community, still had their incredibly high goals, but still wanted to please the players. So, they compromised. But inevitably, the teams dreams and the games cost grew too large, so, in the Prime of its life, it was cut down. The community was told, "Until the end of July, 2019," and that it was fun while it lasted.

In the end, the story goes that the players never got what they wanted, but neither did the developers, so it came as some form of relief to the players that something so awful had befallen the creators of their game and the pillar of their community.

As far as whether or not I personally recommend this game, the short answer is Yes, but that one word doesn't even begin to cover it, because this is so much more than a game to most of us. Its been friends, adventures, stories, artworks, and so much more unending creativity and community. My hope, even though its incredibly unlikely to occur, is that all of this insanely strong backlash will cause Bossa Studios to bring new life and new hope to the game. But the sad reality is, the chances of that are small, even smaller with them removing the option to purchase the game.

They gave it their best effort, as we did, and in the end, it was not us who failed them, but they who failed us.

I believe that everyone has the ability to make something special. It all is dependant on your urge to have fun, to play, to build. If you do so or not depends on you.

I think the game is great, and if you don't have it, you should definitely get it.
