absolute instant CRPG classic already going down in history as one of the best video games of all time

featuring: goth girl, gith girl, the (rusty) blade of frontiers, wizard101, team edward, and flamin' hot cheetos

beautiful cinematics that set a new standard in the genre
balances an immersive world-building, gripping story with the player taking control of the pen and writing their own narrative
CHOICES MATTER and AUTONOMY BEGETS CONSEQUENCES
successor of Larian Studio's last masterpiece-- Divinity Original Sin II

i've been waiting for this along with Elder Scrolls VI and KOTOR III

if you like storytelling, worldbuilding, character development, strategy, D&D, and a high-quality classic role-playing game, well then pack your bags and head to Baldur's Gate because it's PARTY TIME!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II

KOTOR II (TSLCRM) is an exemplary game of its kind.

Initially, KOTOR II's story is as commendable as its antecedent, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The carefully planned out storyline of this game is intricate and cultivating as the player enters into a deeper, darker world of Star Wars. Subsequently, there is a subtle disparity between KOTOR I and II by their environment. KOTOR I seems to be slightly vivid and rich; although, KOTOR II appears to exhibit more dull colors. This may imply the game's gloominess. Next, the KOTOR series' combat system may be the worst aspect to players unfamiliar with a "roll-the-die" kind of combat system. There are little to no skill sets required for each player; nevertheless, the game rewards players for their knowledge of the combat system itself. If your attributes are eminently lacking and insufficient in this game, you simply will not complete it. Thereafter, one of the most notable aspects of KOTOR II is the roster. Everyone loves great characters. In KOTOR II, there are various characters to favor from and, players can even converse and spend time with members of their crew. At the end of the day, each player will go home, appreciating at least one of the characters. My favorite characters would be the comedian, Atton, and the thinker, Kreia. Romance in this game seems decent to me.

The graphics are obsolete and may repel people from playing this game. I think that is nonsense.
The game itself makes up for its substandard illustration. Likewise, I became familiar with the graphics as I progressed through the story.

Ultimately, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II is one of the best games I had ever completed in my lifetime. KOTOR II includes minor flaws even with TSLCRM; however, I certainly believe that it is the best Star Wars game to this date. Needless to say, the KOTOR series is best experienced when it is played in a consecutive fashion (play KOTOR I first).

In short, a must-play.

The fifth installment of the Elder Scrolls franchise takes place in Skyrim: a cold, snowy, and beautiful province in the midst of a civil war full of danger and adventure. If you're older than ten, you've probably seen some arrow-in-the-knee and "FUS-RO-DAH" memes. Guess where that comes from.

This game gives the player many freedoms. Unlike most CRPG's, Skyrim does not bind the player to "classes." You can play as a warrior, thief, and mage all at once. In fact, while selecting your race at the start of the game does provide minor racial benefits, they are too insignificant to consider after playing for a few hours. Additionally, you don't have to stick to the main quest (though I advise you do). There's practically no right way to play an open-world game, particularly Skyrim. You're free to go through dungeons, explore new locations, drink at the local tavern, craft weapons & armor, and somehow go unnoticed as you rob citizens of their clothing by "pickpocketing" (I guess people store the very clothes they currently wear in their pockets). After you complete the game, or simply want to enhance current or add new features to it, you can continue to enjoy the game in new ways. Skyrim is home to one of the most active mod communities you'll find in gaming.

There are more and better points as to why an RPG enthusiast and casual gamer should play Skyrim, but other reviews can do a better job at depicting that. After 10 years (a tenth of a century...), Skyrim remains an enjoyable game that maintains its cult status of iconic and renowned among players of the genre. I bought it for $5 on sale, but it's definitely worth the price of $20 for the gameplay you'll get out of it. Skyrim is not only a great introduction to open-world RPG's, but also a prime example of one.
