Incredibly fun and a great successor to the first game. I will recommend it IF you have insane specs on your PC, otherwise wait for a while until they update an optimize the game. Gorgeous sprawling landscapes that are reminiscent of Shadow of The Colossus, and the weapon skills and combat are a huge improvement over DD1.

I understand negative reviews for the optimization, no lie it is absolutely terrible for most hardware that isn't up to date. However, the microtransactions are absolutely inconsequential and all of them are items you can easily find in game. This is pretty par-for-the-course for CAPCOM monetization, useless crap you can already get in the game, same as the DMC 5 and RE4 remake (OP weapons you can already get just by playing the damn game) Both games rated Overwhelmingly Positive, btw. I think that this kinda thing is more for audiences like Korea where microtransactions are far more accepted and commonplace. They're absolutely not crucial to the experience whatsoever, and would honestly just be lame to buy by making the game baby-mode. Too much misinformation is being spread about the game and its "predatory microtransactions". You do not have to pay money to change your appearance. You simply buy the item that allows you to do so in the FIRST BIG TOWN of the entire game.

Incredible game, not only in the way that it has solid mechanics and a cute aesthetic, but that it is one of those games that slowly reveals itself to be so much deeper than you thought an hour ago /ALL/ the time. If you like games with weird edge-cases, emergent gameplay, and more mechanics than you could count on 10,000 chimeric fingers, give it a shot.

A small list of interesting things to be found in Qud:

Spray-A-Brain, a spray bottle which has the capability to grant sentience to any inanimate object. This can lead to having a companion that is a walking brick wall.

Domination is a skill which transfers your consciousness to an enemies body. Being hunted by esper hunters for drawing too much attention with your immense psychic power? Dominate your assassins and kill your old body.

There is an enemy named a "dreamcrungle", which fires a dream at you in the form of a beam. This makes your character fall asleep, at which point you briefly control a random animal in a dream. Dying in this dream results in your character having a bad dream, permanently lowering your willpower by one. However, gaining a level in the dream body results in the player waking up well-rested, resulting in 15,000 XP (Which is A LOT).

Mutations can cause many things, one of which being extra arms. This legit just lets you equip more weapons in more arms, with a chance to attack with every arm on your turn. There are a TON of mutations, both physical and psychic-related.

If you like roguelikes or dungeon crawlers at all, this is a must-play. Too many roguelike games in the modern era forgo the importance of exploration and stumbling into mind-blowing things, but Qud takes these to the absolute maximum.

Game is for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ losers. If you like your mouth being pissed in play this (I do )

fix your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. i got a 2 hour comp ban because i kept getting kicked over some "missing file" which i verified the integrity of at least 10 times within 15 minutes. this issue also happens to a large majority of the people i have played with.

This game is incredible. Not just for the actual gameplay, but the community has that 4channish vibe. Even if you get bored you can still have tons of fun trading.
