Early Access Review
The ak47 recoil needs to be like how it was in BP system. Right now almost any other gun in the game cant touch an AK. Its really overpowered and it closes the skill gap. What they are doing with the game now is they are opening the farm gap. What i mean by this is they are making it so that you have to farm for hours upon hours in order to get anything you want. One thing is in older rust you could get something like an AK or a rocket etc. out of a barrel. Now the best thing you can get out of a barrel is a spring or something that you can help use to craft an AK that you need to first get the BP for and the level 3 workbench. Not to mention the resources you need to farm. There is no more getting lucky and being excited that you found a rocket in a barrel. The game has been turned into a linear farm fest. You cant even try to chance research an item anymore, you have to go farm for enough to get it garunteed. Solo in Rust now is ridiculously hard. In one wipe you have to farm 2000 scrap just to get workbenches. Then you have to farm scrap for any BPs that you might need. Remember that ak i was talking about? Thats gonna be another 750 scrap to research. And its the same amount for all other high tier items. I wish the developers would take a more pvp oriented approach to the game which made it so fun instead of making it a roleyplay simulator. Every week in the devblogs they focus on adding useless items and features while the core elements of the game suffer. Rust is not as fun as it used to be and anyone who has played the game as long i have would know that. Currently the developers are catering to the noobs in the games development. Rust's most experienced players with thousands of hours are abandoning the game at incredible speeds because of what they are doing to the game. And gary/helk saying that people with thousands of hours should stop playing the game isnt helping the experienced player base. What i think Facepunch needs to do to fix this is to start listening to players with thousands of hours. Honestly i have barely scratched the surface of all the problems rust has but these are the ones i encounter most frequently. The one thing that really bugs me and i think is the reason old players complain alot is because all the biggest problems in rust now are ones that werent always problems in older rust. Im not complaining because the game has always been bad. Im complaining because the game was the best game i ever played and it was ruined.
