Unfortunately I can't recommend the game anymore, age of war stamina changes were abhorrently ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no longer being able to see out a combo string without draining your stamina has led to a meta where you just poke and roll with the spear over and over again until someone finally dies.

Some perks are so overpowered in pvp that there's no longer any room build diversity, you HAVE to have 20 in agility to have rolling thrust (broken beyond repair) and the bonus movement speed at rank 15 or you will be caught and killed by anyone with both, you have to have 20 vitality because glutton for punishment is game breakingly strong with a lack of an internal cooldown so in 1v1 scenarios, as long as you can make some separation from your opponent (basically a given in open world) you're going to heal everything back between hits. Rolling thrust is braindead because rolling is literally endless and costs less stamina than a heavy with the spear so with rolling thrust's free hit cost, the only option to be competitive in a fight is to roll and press right click repeatedly until hopefully someone dies (they probably won't unless you 3v1)

Of every Conan exiles meta I have experienced, this is the first where I literally cannot compete/have the energy to slog through 3 hour long fights, it feels impossible to close a fight out because of glutton and the abundance of healing options, heavy armour is no longer gimped by the lack of rolling or stamina drain because although you don't have enough stamina to do a full combo, you have enough stamina to endlessly run and drag out a fight until help comes and trivialises it.

Legendary overhaul stinks, damaging debuffs such as poison, etc. do nothing because even without set antidote, your glutton and food healing will be enough to draw a fight out for 45 minutes.

I am genuinely shocked at how badly the pvp has changed to the point where although the game has a decent gameplay loop from a pve and raiding perspective, the dread of someone actively defending a base is literally so offputting that you're better off just farming for loot instead.

Can't be a worse game to lag on and there's a clearly small player base forcing me to play vs NA players and on 100+ ping, impossible to make split second decision catches with a second delay. Advertise the game properly and make it F2P

No future update or DLC plans, the rebellion against a games as a service model prevents this from being a good alternative to Warframe, Destiny 2 and even Borderlands 2/3 in terms of content on release, and with no more content planned without a good reception from the community, I can't recommend this game.

I'm level 30 and have completed the story in under 20 hours + including server issues, I did some but not all side quests as they were boring so I'm not entirely sure if the 40 hours of story is even accurate, especially if you keep your world level down for ease (I didn't).

I wanted to enjoy the story but there is a lot of plot holes and questions left unanswered throughout as well as audio bugs ruining some of the cutscenes impact. Moving on from area to area makes each set of characters you meet disposable aside from the ones that join along in your party, and this made me not feel as attached to the game world as I should have with how consistently good the voice acting is throughout.

The end game was sold to have no "reused content" from the main campaign yet each area I've seen so far during expeditions is the same reused assets, and of course, the same handful of enemy types that I have been fighting for 20 hours. That selling point to me was practically a lie. Just because it isn't the exact same areas, to be honest, I think I would have rather re-fought some of the earlier bosses to grind for legendary loot than a pre-telegraphed, boring arena room after boring arena room in expeditions.

The game isn't any innovation on the looter shooter but I did enjoy the experience, I just think for the sake of £49.99 there's a lot more bang for your buck to be had with other games on the market. I feel like now that I've completed the story the post game is just a grind to grind more of the same expeditions, no raids, no different content with a high entry floor to be concerned with, inferior limit testing to other games in the genre and of course, no PVP (I understand the community has no interest but it keeps games alive in the long term).

Nice artstyle, easy to run, gameplay is smooth with a variety of interesting playstyles, skins, a battle pass, it has all the makings of a really good battle royale game apart from players which i find strange. It's pretty unique and plays incredibly well. Been following it for a while from epic games to here and couldn't recommend giving it a shot more.

Very fun story, feels like a true marvel movie/comic level experience. The problem with the game comes in the post-game, It's a game where you're a super hero but never have the chance to feel very super or heroic past the story mode, you fight the same collection of enemies, although in the trailers 80 sounds like a lot of variation, it isn't. You will spend most of your time being hit for 75% of your health by a turret or rocket off-screen and out of your control meanwhile you're playing the literal god of thunder or the incredible hulk, taking that amount of damage in one hit. I will leave the review as positive, as I feel like I've got my moneys worth with the continued added content to come in mind, however, it is very clear that something needs to change in the delivery of the post-game content if they intend for users to remain active. As it stands now, there are players rushing to max lvl/gear yet there's no real benefit, because the difficulty is constantly looming over you and scaling with you. If you host missions at your level or play solo, you will never feel strong regardless of the character you play or the amount of time you spend optimising your build as there are virtually no consistent methods to stay alive in a lot of the missions. I understand that this game is very different but when compared to Marvel Heroes (RIP) I'm just left disappointed by the lack of build diversity and playable character options amongst other things.

Fairly interesting premise and runs without question on a high end rig from a few years ago, however the game is ultimately a glorified battle royale with clunky gunplay, a lack in variety of PVE entities that serve as an annoyance rather than an interesting gameplay mechanic and a lack of variety in guns to suit. Much better options for £20 across Steam either PVP or PVE.

To me, HS feels like a game that has a massive identity error where it falls into a hybrid genre that tries too hard to not be a BR game, which it very much still is whilst adding objectives that serve as nothing but a hotspot for more clunky PVP gunplay. The game shines in its PVE elements although not particularly varied, but the ultimate combination of both PVP and PVE make it a well-rounded poor game, summed up by the consistently low player count.
