ARK is a game that does not give a single ♥♥♥♥ about your feelings. Your tamed creatures that you spent hours taming and even more hours bonding with and getting attached to can die permanently, your base can be turned into rubble by a passing Brontosaurus who just happened to step on it, or by some arsehole with a rocket launcher, while you barely have a bow and arrow and some pants made out of the local bushes. But the beauty in this game is that you can get sweet sweet revenge. No giant tribes are unconquerable, no kings are unslayable. Once you're on top, or have made peace with the ones on top, you can spend some time exploring, and playing "dinosaur safari" like you did when you were 3. Just the sheer childlike glee of seeing a herd of Triceratops trotting about, or watching a T-Rex devour a freshly dead Stegosaurus is full worth the $60 in itself. There is also a single-player mode if you are afraid of said arseholes with rocket launchers too. The scenery is beautiful, even on low-medium settings. You'll feel like you're on top of the world when you're on a mountain, you'll be amazed when you look over the rolling hills with herds of prehistoric beasts stomping about. But the game can be kind of demanding, due to the sheer amount of stuff in the game, and stutters a bit. There's also quite a few strange glitches too, with most being more amusing than annoying. Water creatures are the source of a lot of weirdness. Fish sometimes beach themselves on the shoreline, and sometimes when they breach the surface, they just die for no reason. Thankfully, this doesn't happen with tamed creatures. Also, ragdolls sometimes reverse gravity, because they *can*. "I have to go, my people need me."
With all that said, ARK is a game you should at least try. If you don't like it, you can refund it.
(P.S. One time, I prevented a tribe war by pointing out the sunset. That moment was priceless.)

Saw your comment on the "Simple energy Shield" addon and these are the ones I use. Very easy to setup with console commands:

Re: Protectorate Repowered

It was hidden because it is not being supported and I'm tired of answering the same questions over and over again for a mod I haven't touched in years. Thanks for reminding me to hide the Compat version as well.

I don't recall if I'd tested it or not. But I believe this is what you're looking for:

Unfortunately Psygnosis blocked the person who updated it when they sent him a friend request, presumably because he thought they were a random 'friend collector' or something.
