Finally, canned pineapples have real meaning!

In previous Tropico games, canning your pineapples did little save for increasing your revenue, revenue that could be expanded in more efficient and cost effective operations. It left you feeling like canned pineapples were just tacked on to appease players of the game. Tropico 5 changes that.

So you start governing your first island and what is the soil esspecially benfincial to? That's right, pineapples. So you build a farm or two, exporting those pineapples increasing your income slowly but surley. After researching some glorious technologies, your pineapple farms are bursting with production. Not only do they increase your income, your citizens may EAT these pineapples for nurishment. You begin making trade deals with the pineapples being the forefront of everyone's manifest, all willing to pay top dollar for those pineapples. Eventually you get some support and lead your island in a more independant nature.

Here's where it gets interesting. While the world is busy with their "war" preparations, you've been refining you're craft to perfection. Trading your pineapples to various powers who, in turn, give additional income and support. But now it's time to take it to the next level. Through a centrury worth of research you figure out how to put pineapples into cans. This nearly quadruples it's income and, more importantly, gives your nation the allies it needs to focus on further pineapple applications.

After the wars, you are left standing, pineapple industry in full working order. While some nations fight over petty things like "uranium" or threaten you with "nuclear fire", you have something to show for your efforts. That's right, canned pineapples. Trading them at even higher cost, maximizing efficiency, and ultimatley, keeping you in more power and resources than you'll know what to do with, which is a very good thing.

Now that the pineapple industry has stood the test of time, you can now expand into other fruit based projects. With tropico on the top of the world, and a pile of pineapples, you will make descions that will resosnate with your citizens for decades to come. With a little smarts, resoucefulness, leadership skills, and of course pineapples, there is NOTHING you can't acomplish.

This is more than a strategy game with a sense of humor, this is a beautiful story of how anyone can achieve the impossible. I highly recommend this game and ALL its pineapple endevours. I would rate it 95/100, losing some points on the inability to can corn.

TL;DR: Fantastic game full of wits, charms, and pineapples.
