Though I've only played the campaign and zombies mode, I personally loved the story and the gameplay. All the characters are very well written and acted. They're not just other characters to follow you around, they're your teammates. Every character has an item or ability to share with you. For example, Zussman will throw more medkits your way or Pierson will highlight enemies for you. The environment and atmosphere is great too. I can see that the developers really did their homework on making it feel like World War 2.
The zombies mode is pretty fun too. Truth be told it was the reason I wanted the game. It's much creepier than a lot of the other zombie games. The zombies themselves look hellish and grotesque. I also like having loadouts and abilities. I'm also kinda fascinated by the story. Not to mention that DAVID TENNANT voices one of the characters. That's always a big plus to me.
A lot of the things I didn't like about the game are mostly nitpicks. I do have three big complaints:
1. the campaign, though fun, felt a little short
2. I feel like there could've been a few more weapon choices
3. You only have access to two zombies maps. The other ones have to be purchased.

So far I think it's a pretty fun rogue shooter.
The asthetic and gameplay blend very well together.
It is very difficult but it gives off that feeling of "one more time" with every death.
Having to actively search for upgrades, loot, and allies on each floor is pretty fun.
I do have a few complaints that are woth noting. While it is very hard, part of that difficulty can be attributed to the lack of spatial awareness caused by the numbers that appear when damaging any enemy. The numbers appear so large and clustered that it can sometimes obscure your view, potentially causing you to get hit by an enemy or projectile that you didn't see coming. Since every enemy has a clear health bar I don't really see a point to these damage numbers. Maybe lower their font size or even take them out completely would make the game a little less frustrating.
And I do find it kind of annoying that you have to unlock every character before you can upgrade any of the ones you currently own.
If they tweeked these issues and maybe added some sort of online multiplayer co-op/competitive aspect, I would say this is an underrated gem.
