EDIT
Wanted to add more thoughts that I originally left out.

EDIT 2
Grammar corrections.

I'll admit, I wasn't really planning on getting this game; I actually haven't heard of this title before, but a guy told me to purchase it since it's had some nice devs and a work-in-progress history--

Let's just say that I haven't regretted playing this for one minute. It's a Gamecube loveletter nobody asked for, but it somehow achieves at grasping the nostalgia of great titles like Super Mario Sunshine. In some cases, this actually better represents Banjo-Kazooie better than Yooka-Laylee in some perspectives.

A Hat in Time started out as a one-man project. It soon evolved into a small team that wanted $30k to make the game (at one point, they doubted themselves and lowered it to $20k). After their initial goal, they soon raised over $250k to make the game with tons of bonuses coming in the future.

The music is also fantastic. I feel like every track fits in with each level and objective perfectly. I was blown away just by the sheer loading screen, and it just got better from there on out.

My only complaint would be the short-ish length (there's even a speedrun timer built into the game). If you really wanted to complete this game quickly, it's possible, but since it's had so much support on Kickstarter, the devs have promised more content: 2 new worlds, online multiplayer co-op, and they even put mod support despite being very busy with the game's recent launch (I'm very thankful I'm able to mod-play Trucy Wright).

I've heard nothing but great things about this game; the only """legit""" complaint I've heard from Gamespot is that it has "too much voice-acting", which 1.) you can turn off and 2.) there's an upgrade where you can make the characters mumble in a nonsense fashion like in the original Banjo-Kazooie.

I can tell the devs were very supportive of users that purchased this game. They honestly deserve every penny their way.

I am seriously not disappointed, and if you were to purchase this game, neither will you.

I recall playing this game on school nights in High School, and having amazing, unforgettable memories that really made an impact on my life in a positive and influential way.
