Loved my time with this game! The game is beautiful, addicting (legit beat it in one sitting!), satisfying, and just overall a great experience!! there were only a couple times where I got frustrated with the game but they were short and the good stuff def outweighs it. give it a go if your thinking of buying it

Video games have been in my life for as long as I remember, my first game being Super Mario 64. Since then I've had alot of firsts when it comes to video games. The first game I fully beat (Paper Mario), the first game I got 100% immersed in (Animal Crossing), the first game where I felt a personal connection with the main character (Earthbound), the first game where I cried (Mother 3). Anodyne 2 is another one of those firsts for me and it hold a special place in my heart because of it.

Anodyne 2 first caught my eye with its swapping between 3D Platforming and 2D puzzle sections and the amazing visuals. I believe I saw just a tweet advertising the game and wanted to play it. Bought it, and was greeted by what the game promised, the platforming was fun, the 2D sections were well sprited, and the lowpoly world with that music backing it up was just breath taking. But what kept me going was that dialogue and that amazing story. I didnt want to stop talking to all of the inhabitants and find out more about our lil robot main character named Nova. But when the story truly kicks in, thats where it GOES IN!! Right at the end I teared up/cried at the true ending of the game because I really became attached to Nova and her entire arc and all that she went through really hit a cord with me. an easy recommendation, buy it, play it, and i bet youll fall in love with it like I have

But i mentioned that Anodyne 2 was a first for me, "what type of first was it" you may ask. Well before I played Anodyne 2, I played a game called Moon Remix RPG Adventure a game that changed how I looked at video games as a whole, it was just that good. After playing something as masterful as that video games were kinda soured for me for awhile. Then I saw that tweet just talking about Anodyne 2, thought it looked interesting enough and gave it a go. But after my 10 hours of playtime where I experienced all the emotions that Anodyne 2 has to offer, I was reminded as to why I love video games, the moments that we experience that impact our lives forever. Moon Remix was my video game "Big Bang" making me rethink how I should view and perceive certain video games, and Anodyne 2 was the first game I looked at with that new perspective and I will cherish Nova and her story till the end of time :)

(Hope you guys reach 500 reviews! Thank you for making a game that has changed me forever, and cant wait for the next game you guys have cooking up!!)

I've been following 24 Killers since the rerelease of Moon Remix RPG Adventure on the Switch back a couple years ago. Friends of mine who knew both moon and 24K told me about the project and i instantly fell in love. Just looking at the visuals and some of the dialogue exchanges alone hyped me up to no end and was highly anticipating the release of this game ever since that fateful day years ago.

And now after playing it I can say that even though it isnt on the same level as Moon for me, this is still such a fun and awesome game to play through!! Gameplay is super simple, if you played Moon then its something really similar. If not, then this game is basically an adventure game with a emphasis on character interactions. Doing tasks for the monsters your free, and doing said tasks buffs up your guy which means you can do more tasks, etc etc. Super simple but a gameplay loop i adore! Was laughing at almost all the dialogue, the music was very relaxing, visuals were on point too! No spoils ofc but i also really liked the story, very moon inspired on that front where the overarching story is fairly simple but the characters and the discussions you have with em are what build the world for you. Beat the game in around 10ish hours so id say for 20 bucks its hella worth.

Now I played this game when it launched ( and was given a code from the generous dev, thank you Shabby :) ) and there were some bumps in the road that I BELIEVE are patched/made more clear on what to do. 2 problems I remember were not having enough toast for the first toast lock all because the last toast i needed wasn't telegraphed well, but that is fixed now
(I got around it by cheesing the wind off of the wind whisper and getting the toast on the pipes early), and 2nd was the fishbowls. This time my entire progress was halted until I did some other stuff in the story that I had NO idea was supposed to happen. But honestly those are my two major nitpicks and I think both of those issues have been solved!

Overall, really loved my time with 24 Killers! From the super well written cast, to the music that sets the tone perfectly, and to the gameplay loop that i adored from Moon, this game has really made its mark on me and I cant wait to see what else is to come :)

moon: Remix RPG Adventure (also referred to as just moon) is my favorite game of all time, and I've only discovered this masterpiece back 2 years ago in early 2020 and played for the first time when it released back in August of 2020 on Nintendo Switch. I understand that this game is sadly not for everyone but I do honest to god recommend everyone to give this game a shot once. Even with some annoying bits from time to time, playing through moon again and 100% it AGAIN really makes me realize that this game has aged beautifully. Kinda like Mario 64 where the camera controls are always ♥♥♥♥, it doesnt matter because Mario moves so gracefully 20+ years later.

The game has a great sense of progression from the get go. I've seen alot of people complain about how the time mechanic "ruins this game", which I COMPLETELY disagree with. In the game it specifically states that "hey you are very VERY weak still, but with time youll be able to explore moon world with ease." so you need to play patiently and your reward for playing well and doing a set amount of things in a specific day is the ability to explore more, catch more animals, and experience more of this game. I understand that this aspect of this game maybe what brings people away from the game, but im telling you having a little patience and trying to plan out what you can do in a day really helps and is worth it to experience this game.

almost every other aspect of the game is just near perfect to me. The music (more specifically the purchasable MDs that you can get after you get your own house) is this beautiful compilation of all these different genres. The characters all have their own motivation and goals outside from how they may look on the outside. The designs of the NPCs and animals are amazing making the digital world they inhabit even more interesting. The story is the cherry ontop of this masterpiece of a game, not too much to overwhelm the player but just enough to prod your mind and keep you engaged throughout the entire game. Also the detail and hints that they dropped throughout the game were so deep, that I only noticed everything on my 2nd playthrough. Its absolutely how much detail they crammed into this old PS1 game.

Now this game is not perfect, my main issues with the game are the late game (for 100 percenting) and the fishing mechanic. Some of the late game catches are just wait around for the soul to spawn at day, or wait around for the soul to spawn at night. Heck even some of the character missions in the last area had me just waiting around for night and sleeping for it to be a specific day. which is not what I've grown to love about this game. and the fishing, good LORD THE FISHING. just actually the worst thing about this game. and you have to fish ALOT in this game, for normal completion and for 100%ing. its just not fun, and horribly implemented. But even with these two stains, this game is still really REALLY good.

moon is a once in a lifetime game that, for the longest time, was trapped due to languages but im now glad that it is readily available. Please try this game, there really is nothing truly like it. Even when the creators try to recreate/recapture the spirit, something is missing from the GOAT moon (note all of the love-de-lic legacy games are also bangers but i like moon the most :) ).
