Early Access Review
Somehow perfectly encapsulate's the original glory in 3d. Despite the differences it somehow feels exactly the same. While it isn't perfect, I have high hopes for the game as it goes through early access.

Early Access Review
I mean, it feels like I am playing a clunky, not as polished, Overwatch. The "buying characters" gimmic feels out of place. I liked some of the original characters such as Pip. I found myself enjoying the game. However if you want to play a 6v6 team based shooter stick to Overwatch.

Tl;Dr - An amazing game made with inspirations of Nuclear Throne and Binding of Isaac to flourish into an original Rogue-Like, but every masterpiece has faults such as an underwhelmingjourney and it's fair amount of Rng ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Putting both Bullet and Hell in Bullet Hell. A good game to pick up if you are an avid fan of the Rogue-Like/Dungeon Crawler/Bullet Hell genre

Many people will make the comparison of Binding of isaac and Nuclear Throne off the bat, it isn't hard to see the inspiration of those two games in this one but it is not either of those games. Enter the Gungeon (or EtG) is a nice combonation of the two with elements purely of it's own design. The mechanics such as dodge rolling are an interesting twist in the bullet hell genre allowing you a short window of immunity to carefully dodge over a stream of pain. The game also has reloading which is different from Nuclear thrones weapons and Isaacs tears The enemies and enviroment are all wonderfully whimsical as if Pendleton Ward-esc at some times. The soundtrack is amazing making me regret I didn't buy the soundtrack. The game has it fair amount of challenge locked in throughout the levels and areas.

However The games challenge feels much more luck based than many other rogue-likes of this genre (to use Nuclear Throne and The Binding of Isaac as examples). The game is really dependant on you getting a good gun early on (and with only 5 floors (plus secrets) you aren't left with much room to explore. If you are given a trash gun (or none) on the first and second floor you might as well kiss the ending goodbye. A large amount of the guns are underwhelming and may have fun references and gimmics held within each one but are lacking. The enemies have a fair AI along with stratagies built into all of them. The areas are moderatly bland in relative to the long journeys of Isaac and Nuclear Throne, the 5 areas are pretty bland. The game is a wonderful rogue-like with some flaws.

I can forsee me spending many hours in this game despite it's faults. Devolver and Dodge Roll did a very good job with this game.

You know what pisses me off about this game?
The lack of capital letters.

Binding of Isaac: rebirth is not just your average dungeon crawler. It elabourates on the original to make a perfect homage to great games like the original Legend of Zelda, but y'know with Biblical history thrown in for fun.

The game might as well be the definition of 'replay value' simply how you have thousands of hours into the game and never play the same game once.
