Had a couple YouTube videos pop up on my field a while ago saying this game was great. I waited for it to be on sale and got it for $7 after tax. The game does not have any depth to it or management. Beat the game on the hardest difficulty in about 6 hours, most of my playtime was banging my head against a wall to figure out what upgrades are needed for X mission and replaying for achievements. You get to manage 3 units, and only play as a fighter.

I got the game on sale for $10. took me 25 hours to beat the campaign. The pacing is very strange, the early game is extremely hard, but once you get past that the game becomes pretty mindless. Gear is weird and doesn't really matter, I used the same two weapons and armor piece of my entire playthrough that I got pretty early on. Game would be worth full retail price if there was voice acting.

7/10 recommend.

Janky ass game but dude its just so addicting. The sense of progression is unreal. 10/10 recommend. Game is EXTREMELY cheap if you look around on the internet and its worth every penny.

DLC is probably 1 hour max lmao. Very disappointing.

Game is like an off brand Ace Combat. If you get it for sub $10 its a good buy. Gameplay and missions are just kill X target with no...."special" missions like in AC7 where you have a time limit or stealth. Just kill this. I beat it in 6 hours, died maybe 3 times on the Hardest difficulty.

I have not played conquest mode. Don't think I will because the game does not have the plane catalog with upgrade or cool weapons like AC7.

I've only continued to play the game because of sunken cost fallacy. It definitely is not worth $70+ The game is really barren, and is a major time sink just from loading screenings, menus, and unskippable animations like docking as an example.


I finished the game at level 45, did all the side content besides one Faction story line.

I've finished three faction story lines and story wise, the first one, that involves the crimson fleet was good, and the second, Ryujin Industries was lack luster because of gameplay made the story not as immersive or cool, the free star ranger one was just...fast and boring. I completely skipped the UC Vanguard one because i was so upset with the game not being good or fun.



Space combat is horrible and janky. Boarding a ship is really cool the first time you do it but in the end its pointless because you don't make any noticeable profit from selling them even with the Commerce perk maxed out, and they aren't as good as the ones you can buy.


Surveying planets is completely RNG on how much time it can take you regarding the planet's Traits. You can literally run around the planet for an hour hoping you find one, then praying you find another unique one and not the same one you discovered.


Lack of choices dialogue wise is really...lame. ME1 has way better options and consequences, the game was released 16 years ago Gunplay/AI/Combat is extremely upsetting that its this horrible in 2023. Enemies do not do anything challenging or special regardless of difficulty. Saying "its a Bethesda game" is not a valid excuse. The combat skill tree is pointless because you'll be able to kill enemies with ease and is the tree where you should not sink any points in. Ship combat is literally the AI jousting you, flying away, and repeating that over and over.


All of these critiques don't even mention the horrible performance. i9 12900k @ 5.1GHZ, 4090, 32GB of ram at 3800Mhz and the frame rates along with frame drops are ludicrous regardless of settings. This severely impacts the pacing and tone. The main quest line was "meh" it was neither good or awful, it was short though. game is a 6.5/10 imo. Not worth the launch price of $70+ USD lol.


edit: Also for people saying "New game+ is gamechanging". It isn't. You just level up your powers, and armor that you get for beating the main story line. Theres no point in doing that when combat is lack luster. The dialogue that you "unlock" does not change any out comes. The only thing that can potential change is your very first time entering the lodge. Thats it. It does not change the story.

First time playing the souls like series and decided my first ever play through on nigthmare, DO NOT do that. All of my hours are how long it took to the beat the game + SOME side objectives. I'm not a single player/pve kinda guy and I think this is one of the best games released in a LONG time.

Fun game. I'm not an original paragon truther, I did pay for the alpha/beta test back in the day and only played a little bit.

Positives

The heros feel balanced nothing is overly over powered

Queue times are almost instant

The casual queue is in a HORRIBLE state right now because you're getting people new to MOBAs, veterans, and paragon enthusiasts there seems to be no Skill Based Matching or player sorting for quick battle.

A lot of people praise Mass Effect 1 but honestly....it isn't worth playing in 2022. Every building on planets is copy and pasted from side missions. The AI are bullet sponges.

New WH40k fan, the atmosphere was cool but the game is really dated. There was some weird mouses input delay and the mini map didn't work. I only played the campaign and it took me 9ish hours to beat with some AFKing. The story gameplay didn't really feel challenging? You just build ♥♥♥♥ and win with a little bit of struggling
