Terraria has more content than most full priced triple A titles released today, which is pretty nuts considering I paid about $2.50 for it. The game has:

- An absolutely massive amount of interesting, fleshed out content
- Mod support
- Continued dev support which isn't just miscellaneous bug fixes but also full fledged free content updates
- Different difficulties so you you can have a more laidback experience and still see all the endgame content.

When I try to think of cons I come up blank. I've never had any stability issues in the 400+ hours I've played, never once crashed, had a save corrupted, or experienced a gamebreaking bug of any kind. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely enjoyable experience.

Ended up buying this game while it was on sale, figured it'd be an ok change of pace from the stuff I normally play. Honestly surprised at how enjoyable the whole thing is.

Pros:
- Good variety in weapons, gear, and enemies makes each run feel unique.
- The game is actually pretty difficult, even after 30 hours a run through all the dungeons still presents a very enjoyable challenge.
- Additional characters, all with their own unique rulesets (can't skip a beat, can't pick up gold, etc;), provide an additional level of replayability. Some of these characters will also drive the difficulty of the game up to near impossible levels. Realistically I'll never be able to clear the game with some of these guys, but the fact that the option is there is nice for the more hardcore players.
- Unlockable training areas that give you an opportunity to practice against any boss or mini-boss in the game.
- The soundtrack is top notch, the game is worth it for the music alone.

Cons; these are more minor gripes than anything
- While every enemy is restricted to the beat just as you are, certain enemies don't move in a definitive pattern. Some will move in random directions which can make beating them feel less planned and more luck based. It is important to note that very few enemies do this.
- In terms of balance, while there is a wide variety of weapons to use, its very apparent that anything that lets you attack from a distance is preferable. Items like the broadsword which allow you to attack in a wide arc in front of you feel inferior to something like a longsword or spear which lets you attack over a couple of spaces in a given direction.
- The story is coherent but it doesn't really add anything, it feels like it was built around the game, if that makes sense. To be honest I wouldn't even call this a con but I know some people might care so I'd mention it.

One last thing worth mentioning is that the real meat of this game comes from the all zones mode. After a little bit of practice you'll be able to clear any given level without too much effort. The all zones mode makes runs feel more personalized as gear will carry over to the next area.

Game is fun, music is fantastic, overall definitely worth a pickup, and if its on sale you have no reason not to.

It's actually pretty amazing looking back at a free game and seeing you've spent enough money on it to buy a used car.

10/10, would financially cripple myself again.
