Wait for sale

The good:
The game keeps players engaged throughout the entirety of gameplay.
It's a turn-based horde survival tower defense game for players who are into micromanaging characters, stats, and resources.
Challenging, but not too difficult (on normal difficulty at least).

The bad:
This game is LONG. In 7.1 hours of gameplay, I completed the tutorial and the first zone. I did not fail/lose at any point.
The gameplay loop can become monotonous, so even if you have the time, you may still want to take a few breaks over the course of a run.
The night phase isn't rewarding enough. You kill thousands of enemies and just get 1 item and some resources. A little lackluster in that regard.

Lag spikes every time my camera stops recording (single player).
Very monotone aesthetic, instead of actually adding textures.
Game play didn't seem exciting either, though I can only speak for 0.2 hrs of that.

Definitely worth it, even more so on sale.
Hard to master but fun to learn.
Pretty tough at first.
Great with friends.

If you doubt the visual style, just give it a chance. I adjusted very quickly, and even came to enjoy it.

Early Access Review
Disclaimer: this review is representative of my experience in solo mode in only 0.9 hrs of gameplay

Review:
Unbalanced and unenticing.
Core game play leaves much to be desired.

More Details:
This is a horde survival game with very little depth. My qualms are as follows:
- The player moves slowly, with no sprint option, only a dodge roll with cooldowns.
- The enemies are all faster than you, and stronger too.
- Ammo is scarce
- Enemies come from all directions at once, making it increasingly difficult to kite, especially with slow movement speed
- In the "tutorial mission", there is an enemy that can stunlock you and kill you in 2 hits!

BUT...
- The assault rifle sounded/felt nice :)

Early Access Review
dont waste your time with this title
devs dont update the game nearly enough. there seems to be no one on call for hotfixes, leaving critical bugs running rampant for weeks
the rare improvements that are made either lead to other issues or get reverted eventually anyway.

this review was updated from a previously positive review much closer to the game's early access release. all hope and promise of this game becoming something great is wasted

Early Access Review
Review:
Has potential.
The game is good considering it just entered early access, but needs work.
No apparent game-breaking bugs!

More Details:
As with any turn-based tactical rpg, you'll have to plan out your moves carefully for things to go your way.
Currently, the game could do better to inform the player of relevant information, such as
- Enemy damage
- Enemy movement intent (when in stealth)
- Status effect meanings

The skill crafting is another gray area.
You have the freedom to craft your skills using a Form, Effects, and Efficiency (AP cost/cooldown).
While the system sounds really unique and customizable, the game prevents/balances broken abilities by ensuring a minimum cooldown for certain Forms and Effects, regardless of which Efficiency token you use to Forge the Skill.
You will not be able to craft any absurd or incredibly unique skills due to these limitations.

The dev is active in the Discord for questions and feedback, but I haven't owned the game long enough to see any feedback applied.
Try the game out if it seems up your alley!

Repetitive and boring. I found myself playing just because I paid for it, and even then I couldn't convince myself to play the second half of the game.
It's my understanding that the game was unfinished due to circumstances of the dev team.

I can't recommend this game.

Early Access Review
Review:
Fun gameplay, immersive audio, great style
Worth the price (especially on sale), but still early access

More Details:
Gameplay: starts out really relaxed, but gradually picks up the pace as time passes.
You're not thrown into hordes of enemies too quickly, but you'll need to keep upgrading your gear to survive!

Audio: features a dynamic soundtrack which changes based on player actions, cementing the dark and dissonant forest around the player

Graphics: most seem to fit the game's style perfectly, but content is still being added, and some sprites branch further from the original style than others

Early Access: content and mechanics have changed a bit since i've owned the game. some things for the better, others... not so much. For example, the original harvest system is one of the things i liked most in the game, but as of my last run, it had been changed with no indication of returning to the original

The devs want this to be their game and will take it in whichever direction they please. This means that the game will stay true to the intention of the dev(s), but it also means that player input is of little importance.

Review:
Pretty disappointing.
Not worth the price tag.

More Details:
I played the original demo and was super excited for this game's release. So excited, in fact, that I avoided grinding out the demo because I wanted to enjoy the full game as much as possible.

The ideas and concepts are great, but the game itself just becomes an uninteresting cycle of resource gathering, base organization, and spamming LMB at enemies. I really hate to hate this game.

Main Issues
- Both enemy and environment objects scale up (health/armor) as you progress, leaving little joy in actually being stronger. Realistically, you will only ever be as strong as your strongest enemy, no matter how much you try to grind
- Resources are locked behind progression, halting players who would rather just have fun with the elements and spell combinations
- Many bullet effects require you to hit an enemy dozens of times before the enemies actually become afflicted. This is immensely unnecessary and results in a waste of time, effort, and ammo. The thresholds should be lowered, not because it's too hard, but because its unfun.
- Multiplayer (2-player co-op) is very laggy. Devs originally planned 4-player but the lag literally made it unplayable. Rather than solving it, they just reduced the max players

My complaints with this game can be summed up as follows:
The mechanics used to control difficulty not only limit the player, but they suck.
(They suck the fun out, they suck the time out, they suck the appeal out.)
