A dang fine product! had a lot of fun running through this game
Just completed my first run and i tried to 100% it without any guides
i got 85% completion and before the end of the game i decided i needed some help finding some collectibles, sadly this is where my biggest problem occurred
without spoiling much you need to get all this lil things hidden throughout the game to get access to an optional boss, but that collectible seems to glitch out and hard locks you from finishing the side quest and that means no optional boss in that play through
the game has some jank to it, some boss projectiles can wonder under the background textures and hit you without you seeing them

some animations feel unpolished and clunky

i find i get a weird short hop issue where my guy just short hops over and over (could be user error)
and as stated above items can glitch out into purgatory

all said i do really like this game ive been following it since 2020
its art and music direction is great, the atmosphere is amazing, the combat is fun, bosses are cool, and i the map design works really well

i do have some small complaints for gameplay and progression

as you run through the game youll get items delivered way late in the game, i feel too many things are locked behind traversal mechanics that require 70% of the game to be completed, basically youre almost be done with the game and you get very little time to enjoy those upgrades youve been waiting for since the beginning

for gameplay this game is a build your stats to your preference kinda game but the available weapons and magic seem to be heavily skewed towards a select few builds
i initially went for a dex/mind build but i found myself stating into strength instead because well you dont really get many options for for dex and maybe one or two dex/mind scaling weapons but thats towards the end of the game so i already hopped over to str/mind build
also its very easy to cheese many of the bosses if you play with high mind stats
i think there were only 3 bosses i couldnt just throw 1-3 spells at and watch their health melt
and the three i couldnt were hidden or optional bosses
just some balancing issues there
it was still a very fun game i think its my favorite game of the year so far
id give it a 7.5/10

i wish there was more

If you like Dark souls 3 youll love Dark souls 4 (elden ring)

100+ hours in and im still on my first playthrough
still finding new areas
still trying out new weapons
still having one hell of a time

One of those games where you feel like your actions have consequences so you spend 10+ hours planning your moves waiting in the shadows but once something ticks you off you throw out all that ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ and engage in mass genocide
