Well, this is Valve's masterpiece. The game that Valve have put most their effort into and with millions of players daily, it's definetely a success. But let's see how:

Pros:

• Game is very competitive and can be played with 4 friends to make a perfect team of 5 against another.
  
• Game offers a tutorial for new players aswell as bot matches so they'll quickly become better at the game.
  
• Game has 110 heroes, so each player can find the hero they like best.
  
• Most of the heroes have their own cosmetics which (similar to Team Fortress 2) can be bought from an in-game store and found as in-game drops, except these drops are awarded at the end of a game, and they are quite rare.
  
• Players have a choice of over 10 game modes, and can even create their own custom game.
  
• Many players are kind and helpful and will help coach/teach new players on how to get better at this game.
  
• The list goes on.....

Cons

• Leaving a game is punished severely. Each player will be forced to play 5 games in "Low Priority". In this, players can only play against other players in "Low Priority" which means that wait times for playing games will be longer, battle points will not be awarded and in-game drops will be disabled. This is a very controversial idea which has resulted in many players playing on other accounts.
  
• Some players will be very mean and hurtful towards other players who are not supposedly doing what they want them to. Sometimes, they will "report" the player where a complaint is submitted. If enough complaints are submitted, the one who is reported will be put in Low Priority.
  
• As mentioned above, leaving a match will result in Low Priority. This is known as "an abandon" where the player can leave the game normally, however, if they do not reconnect to the game in 5 minutes, they will be assessed with an abandon. If a player goes away from their computer for 5 minutes without gaining any XP or gold, they will be assessed with an abandon. Another controversial topic.
  
• Some players will commit a "feed". This is when players will deliberately walk into enemies to give them gold and XP. They will do this to try and end the game faster if things are not going the way they want them to.
  
• Many foreign-language speaking players will play on other servers for better connection purposes and Valve has not added a translation feature meaning that it can be hard to understand what these players are saying. This is a VERY serious topic which has angered many Dota players, encouraging xenaphobic and hateful comments towards these players.

Overall, I will rate this game a 9.5/10 and I hope you enjoy this game and meet lots of new friends.
