Published too early, but the game got quite some potential. Needs a lot of polishing, content and fixes. Devs seem to be transparent and very much community orientated tho, so that's a good sign.
You already can get some fun out of it, but it can also be frustrating at times regarding performance, crashes, ai behavior, etc.

Played DayZ back in the Arma2 Days and had the time of my life.
The Standalone at first was the biggest disappointment in my gaming history, but the mods & recent update (especially in 2019) kind of saved the game and made it playable and also enjoyable.
Recommended to play either solo on hardcore survival servers or as a small group on PVP servers.
Basebuilding is also a nice endgame-goal & the toxic zones offer awesome loot and have a unique feel in vanilla/lightly modded servers.

I am having a lot of fun recently again building bases, going to high loot/pvp areas and also surviving.
Hard to get into, but once you got in, it's hard to leave.

Don't get discouraged by the bad reviews .. This is hands down the best MMOARPG. (Most of the reviews are negative because Amazon couldn't handle the big hype around launch - It's getting better now tho.)
Are you a fan of Diablo, WoW, POE, FF14 or anything similiar to those games ? - Join in and enjoy the ride.
This game has a ton of content and leveling to 50 is only the beginning .. so much to explore, collect & do on a daily routine.

I haven't been hooked like this to a game in ages.
